I had been coming to this fine site for about 2 months. This is what finally made me sign up.
Anyway, Guardian Heroes. Now that takes me back. When I was listening to the music, I was instantly taken back to the sections of the game it came from. Right down to the sound effects from the unknown golden soldier shouting after you issue a command, to Randy using his magic. My only nitpick (and it's a minor one due to the fact that this focused on the music, and not the game itself, and that the game is a decade old now) is that I noticed you were using the z button to use the magic menu. I found it loads easier to issue the magic commands via the street fighter style input commands. For example, Randy's fireball is a down, down-forward forward motion + Z to use.
Other than that, I completely agree with you. It's a game well worth playing, and an OST worth it's purchase. And I too now have to unpack my saturn, and have at it.
And to be completely honest, Guardian Heroes was *THE* reason I bought a Saturn.
Also, Jinjiru + Randy is an excellent 2 player Story mode combo. I remember racking up 65+ hit combos on those poor lowly ranked soldiers in the village.
For my response, I have to say that no, I do not believe in this shit.
Here's why:
Cosmic rays have been hitting the earth for centuries, and at a much faster rate than the LHC is planning. And yet, we're all here. We're not going to die from it.
What the test they're after is for the presence of a particular element they have yet to been able to record. If it exists, then the big bang theory stands. Otherwise, it's back to the drawing board for science to think up new theories.
Why is that important for us to know? I don't know.
It's my firm belief that no matter how hard we try, we'll never know more than one tenth of one percent of anything.
About the 2012 end of the world prediction you touched on.
Also a load of BS.
The mayan calendar is actually an astrological calendar that plots the course of the sun as it travels through a procession of the astrological signs. If you look closely at a mayan calendar, you'll notice that it has 4 quadrants. Each quadrant has three signs. That makes 12 months of the year. Those quadrant dividers are marks for the equinoxes. When the sun is at it's shortest, or longest periods. This is because the planet is on a slow wobble around the sun, which makes december 22nd to 25th the shortest days of winter, and around two weeks into april, or easter, some of the longest days of the year.
In, or around 2012, the age of pisces will be over. This is the age we live in. An age is simply a marked roughly 2000 year time span. When pisces' age is over, it will begin the age of aquarius. That's it. That's all that's going to happen. The earth didn't come to a sudden end when the age of taurus ended, and it became the age of aries. It won't happen this time, either.
Another fine review!
This game was a lot of fun when it came out. Not quite so much now, but it had a lot of great gameplay elements to it that made it stand out. Sadly, now it's tough to find a beat 'em up of any kind outside the arcade.
The interesting thing about Mencia is that his name isn't Carlos, and he's not mexican. His name is actually Ned Arnel Mencía and he's from Honduras. Each time he calls himself some derogatory term for the wrong race, I just have to sigh and shake my head. If you're going to center yourself around racism and racist comments, you should at least get them right. I think he may have brought up a good point, once, but knowing that he's taken material from dozens of comics, it may not have been his words originally.
Disney proves that no matter how unsuccessful sequels are, their sequel machine is always ready to pump out more. Hell, this even spawned a horrible sit com based on the movies.
My mind is blown. I saw this well before I knew you as That Guy With The Glasses.
This also feels like the part of a DVD, with the commentary part. It's quite well done!
