Oblivion Mara God, I freaking hate this movie. I wanted to know if it has been featured in any NC review, and if it should be, which is how I came across yours... I'm not as much into video games as you are, that must be why I wasn't aware of most of the major fails you pinpointed. The fact, for example, that Allegra designed his revolutionary game all by herself, and that she had the only existing copy of it didn't bothered me. I saw that as another attempt to build her as the typical misunderstood heroine...
But damn. The characters are bland, if not totally stupid (like the over-tormented Allegra), the pods and the other devices are gross, the scenario needlessly complicated, with no explanation whatsoever given to the viewer *plottwiiiiiists till insaaanityyyy*, the whole cast is clearly underacting... All that being made purposely, as several forums will tell you, all in the sake of doing "something different" or "artistic". I mean, "Dungeons and Dragons" was a bad movie, but it never claimed being a revolution. Oh... I forgot the sexual innuendos what are literally invading the dialogues between the innocent Pyke and his instructor, Allegra. I know, video games are sexy, but do they really need to try that hard? Totally unsubtle. It must be even worst in the French version, the one I watched, which sounds like cheap porn.

Well, maybe that went too far... Sorry for being intolerant and flooding your comments, I'm usually quite open-minded, but I consider this movie as the worst I've ever seen, and I'm kind of loosing control every time I speak of it (while you were able to see the good points in it)... The good thing, though, is that it allowed me to get aware of your reviews... And I definitely like your style. You're intelligent, interesting, you act like a professional, and you're funny as hell ! Some parts of this video had me dying with laughter. You sir, are really good.
