Would play it if I had an Xbox, but I'm a PS3 man myself. To bad, looks like a good rental.

It's only worth a rental. Rented it myself the week it came out. I did not find it enjoyable at all. Plus the agility orb gathering became just a test in frustration as it stops you dead in your tracks from continuing on with the bland, boring objectives. Returned it before the due date.

The Voice of the Agency is why I and many people play the game.

    "Agent, don't kill Peacekeepers"
    "Agent, don't blow up Peacekeepers"

So only new thing in this game compared to first one is having mutants. Its not improvement at all. In fact its more like step backwards. Mutants and other monsters are not fun to shoot anymore in FPS games.

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed too, but nevermind, the first one was enjoyable, I don't care if I miss this

mutants were in first game towards end

I really enjoyed crackdown 2 my only problems with it are some of the connection problems and maybe the fact that if you want to know the story you have to go hunting the audio logs.

overall a very fun game and if you've got friends who have the game the replayability just increases.

also there's the fact that catapulting a tank into a friend with mag grenades is insanely fun.

That newscaster did NOT make a wise career choice.

Nothing makes a game more forgetable then console exclusivity. It's probably not financialy wise either.
  • That Guy With Many Lists  - Really?
What about Halo? One of the most well known, well loved, FIrst person shooter series of all time. It's Xbox exclusive. And it doesn't feel like it's becoming "Forgetable".
  • Radelta
Idiotic comment. Lawl. Do you even play games Lika?

Because you can't even remember all of those console exclusive games of years past...what was that one, where you're a guy in green tights, and you collect triangles or something? Myth of Serena or something like that? And you're totally right, Nintendo would make a fortune if it let Mario games get made for Xbox 360!
  • opel
Cel-shaded? Apparently it's subtle as I couldn't tell from the video, but I could tell that the textures look like ass. It looks like a five year old game.

Crackdown never really was a very good game it was only ever good enough for a quick mess around and never really had enough to keep you playing and seems like the second ones going to be pretty much the same as for the graphics i'm actually glad they went for lower end graphics to promote faster game play and larger draw distance as with most games nowadays the draw distance is so abismal that you see things been rendered 2 feet in front of your character most the time.

oh and one last thing the game is a TPS not a FPS (T = third).

The story sounds a little like a re-hash of Prototype...but Prototype was fairly good and the story was enthralling.

"Ah, I love the smell of agent in the morning." the agency guy said in the first one when you burned yourself up... :p

And he is not annoying! He is a "feature"!

...Still, I am not buying the game as they did nothing to the aiming system.

Thanks for the review Sage. The general consensus seems to about match up to what you think.

Personally, I'm not going to get this game. I played the first and thought it was alright, but nothing more. From what all the reviews I've read have been saying, this is more of the same and there are other games I'm far more interested right now.

This game looks terrible for a xbox360 release. It looks like an old PS2 game. Really terrible !

I don't know if it's pixellated as hell because of the video compression you employed or whether it's like that. Also, the buildings look really, REALLY bulky and uninspired in their design.

    I'll keep away from it.
  • darkwolf1200
the collecting of orbs reminds me of grinding in MMOS only this one seems to be more annoying to have to go around looking for them rather then just killing random mobs. ether way this doesn't look to grand sorry if I wanted a game where I can kill mutant monsters and people while collecting orbs I will just go back to prototype

I just played the demo of this at my buddies house not to long ago and all I have to say is this it. I just don't see the point of this. The game play is tedious and the graphics look like they belong to a first generationg ps2 or more likely a last generation PS1 game.

this game kinda reminds me of prototype

I was bummed that they basically changed nothing and added very little, but it's not like it's the worst thing they could've done. Running around the city is still fun and the game is a whole new thing with you and your friends, especially when you figure out how magnetic grenades work, which my buddies just figured out the other day and it was like I just got an expansion pack for free lol It's unbelievably fun.

I still want a Crackdown 3...they just need to actually make a new game next time.
  • TheKPL
I lost the original Crackdown so I dont mind another one. I might get this.
    The multiplayer seems cool too.

Also, why are people so uptight about graphics?

  • Forthwol

Same could be said for Prototype but least the missions in that vary somewhat. Which is why it went back to being my guilty pleasure game. Just going in and smashing stuff But in the end it seems most sandbox games are just meant to be guilty pleasure games.

I think I'm going to wait awile until I get this game...like wait until the price goes down to atleast 30 or 25 dollors cause the price of it now doesn't really look like its worth it. It looks just like the first one(wich I liked). But I was kinda hopeing it would be some what diffrent. Something like maybe a new skill that the agent could learn or something. But it looks alright I suppose. I'll give it a thumbs up...not two just one haha.

why limit yourself to just one you should strive to have both just in case.

    And remember God hates Fanboys!

Well, I am a a fan of Crackdown and I also want something new. The first one needed a story, more variety, better ledge grabbing control, more melee moves and better vehicle handling. And so does this game. At least in the demo. I've already played thru Crackdown a few times, I don't care to play thru Crackdown Redux. Bastards.

I don't care what anyone says, Crackdown 2 isn't cel-shaded. Very few "cel-shaded" games actually are.
