So, did you not actually play the game, or did you just forget how to pronounce Ezio's first name? not to hate on you, i just have a pet peeve about pople not being able to pronounce people's names correctly, which is why i have a hard time talking to foreign people. And personally, i like the complex story about the templars. Joan of Arc was a templar, Nickola Tesla a templar, the thing about Adam & Eve i don't want to ruin

11.24.2009 - 21:10 | MeadoGreat review, as always. Having played the game already, I agree completely on pretty much everything you said. Definately much better than the original.
But, no offense, how can you get Ezio's name wrong considering how often it's said in the game? Et-zio Audit-or-ee. The "De Firenze" bit means "from Firenze", as in where he was born. Not that it really matters, but it bugged me.

11.24.2009 - 22:07 | darkfireI like Assassin's Creed II. But, I'm from the Spyro era, so collectathons are awesome in my book, which is what part of Assassin's Creed is. The historical side and story also drive my in.
My favorite improvement is that Ezio actually has a personality, and a fun-loving one at that. Makes me think he's the guy that will give a drink to everyone, and have poison in said beer.

I'm sorry, did ubisoft kill this guys puppy? Every other reviewer I've seen has basically said the opposite of this guy, this is the first mainly negative review I've seen of Assassin's Creed 2, so I'm going to go with the vast majority and say this is a good game.
Does it have beggars and mentally challenged people in it? Those were the only things I hated in the first one. The whole idea of the game was blending into a crowd, but they always singled you out.
No, but instead it has bards/musicians that will come to annoy you, but not that often. You just genty push them out of your way and they'll leave you alone.

nice vid bro. thought i'd actually make a comment for a change. the only thing that bugged me from a purely technical stand point would be the lack of sound just before you spoke the title... but then considering your usual m.o., it could just be a lack of sound in the game's intro itself, which would bug me more in all honesty. sound is life man XD
talk with you later. gotta work on a project tonight and tomorrow, probably won't be able to stop by till sunday or monday. anyhoo, happy thanksgiving, bro.

11.25.2009 - 00:15 | KakehI agree on some of your points, but I have to say 2 is much better than AC1.
And Vagina is an outlet depending on how far you take it guys :P
BTW, I don't watch many of Sage's reviews because he always sounds so bored when doing the review. Makes me feel bored as i absorb atmosphere XD
I mean fixed exploration and brain dead AI are attractive to you to something?
Yes. That must be it. That's why he likes how this game has free exploration, and why he bashed the combat system due to the simplicity of waiting for the AI to attack so you can counter.
Oh. Wait.
Furthermore, it's pretty embarrassing that you misspelled "Bennett," considering that it's right below the title of the video.

I wasn't talking intially about Assassin's creed 2 rather than was talking about his review ethic and how he favored uncharted 2 rather than assassin's creed 2. that FIXED exploration and shovelware AI thing I mentioned was about Uncharted 2 among comparing it to Assassin's creed 2's smart AI and incredible Sandbox style interactivity.
Also I know that I mispelled his name but then again you people forgave Doug for his consistant typos before right? And yes I know that I should've posted this on his uncharted 2 review. but then again the comment bank must like 24 pages by now so who was going to notice my consensus then? anyway I just thought that his verdict was a bit....stupid.
Because Assassins creed 2 really does attends to the newcomers of the series despite there being no real recap from the first story its all about enjoying the time well spent.
Also the pistol is awesome despite U getting it later on in the game.
Oh and Canada's higher on the human development index than you americans so HA!

11.26.2009 - 15:44 | theTrekkieWithTheUnoriginalUsernameI disagree with your views on Uncharted 2; its a linear game, you should have expected fixed exploration (especially since that's how the first one was). IMO, you seem to be one of those people who can't enjoy a linear game because its too "enclosed."
Also, while the AI is a bit wacky at times (mostly due to some of the quirks of the new stealth system), it isn't "brain dead" or "shovelware"; it provides quite a challenge, especially on hard and crushing, and actively tries to flank you (which is how all AI should be on shooting games).
However, I mostly agree with your views on AC2; its fun, and time well-spent.

11.25.2009 - 01:48 | cb19882000remember guys it is proven that reviews are not universally needed and this game has outsold the original already the first sold 7 million so i dont think 7 million people are wrong

11.25.2009 - 01:50 | DankscarverI must say, Remembering how the first game was, AC2 is such an incredible improvement. A lot less, and I mean A LOT less to collect (which is a good thing as that became very tedious in the first game). The most you have to collect are feathers and there are only 100 of those in the game, as apposed to the 100 flags you had to collect in every city/town of the first game.
Though the money system is pretty cool, they give you just to much damn money, However I somehow find a way to spend it all, very weird. Normally on Art and random pieces of Armor/Weapons.
I noticed that you had the Scimitar as your main weapons which puzzles me as the sword from the first game is somehow magically the best weapon in the game. Why not use that one?
Also, here's a little secret you guys can do when your really bored. If you poison a guard, wait a little bit until he gets to a full frenzy, and throw money at his feet, the peasants will start running up towards him, hilarity insured.
-
Yes I enjoyed the first one and I'll probably enjoy the second even more because it almost polished the gameplay and added new things to the game that I can't wait to try for myself.
Still no one addressed the question if there are anymore loadings between cities and the world map like in the first. Oh and why does it seem that they downgraded a little the engine so it could support more complexity in the city.
remember guys it is proven that reviews are not universally needed and this game has outsold the original already the first sold 7 million so i dont think 7 million people are wrong
Well two things, first of all it has only sold 1.6 million copies worldwide so far, yes it sells faster but it hasn't sold as much yet. Second of all, yes, seven million people can be wrong, just look at all the religions, all of them can't be right(If any) but ALOT of people believe in them anyway. And just because it has sold alot doesn't mean that all that have bought it liked it. And when it comes to reviews, the first one was criticly praised to with scores around 9/10 and in retrospective they say that it sucked. Reviewers seem to be wrong very often, they simply doesn't seem to spend enough time on the games to really see how bad/good they are. Prototype is a good example, it sucked, if you have played it for over two hours you'll know what I'm talking about and that was criticly praised too.
-
so you're saying we shouldn't listen to Bennett review because Reviewers seem to be wrong very often
-
I am pretty much in disagreement with you on this one. I think it is a huge improvement from the first game, which is saying quite a bit because I enjoyed the first one as well, and enjoy the so called boring storyline as you put it, and the combat which I guess is broken.
Worse part of the 1st one was the banner and templar killing they fixed that. I can deal with 100 feathers, and 8 statues.
Crimson there is still loading between cities, although there isnt a huge land to ride around in like the first. You port from city to city
