10.13.2009 - 00:11 | ThatSlayerOf100Wow, that was a nice review, I really like the suffering, such a great story and the sequel as well, but is sucked that in the second game you only have 2 weapons to carry, I guess they wanted realism. Anyways, Torque is badass among badasses.
The only weak point on this vid was that lame cover song you put in the background, not creepy just dumb besides the original Raining Blood.
If your going to make a vid for Ties that bind us, put it there, rapid fire gory action up the ass with Slayer is the perfect mix.

I am definitely looking forward to this. I acquired a PS2 only a few months ago, and have been stocking up on the survival horror stuff, like Galerians Ash, the Fatal Frame series, Rule of Rose, and both The Suffering games. I saw a friend play the very beginning of the first one, and it didn't take me very long to become interested. It looks like my interest in the game was well-founded. Thank you for boosting my desire to play this game, Sage, and congratulations on your definite improvement in your reviews!

10.13.2009 - 01:15 | Steve2911Very nice review.
I remember seeing this game and writing it off as another generic gorefest to appeal to the Manhunt crowd. After watching this I may have to give it a second glance.

Awesome! Someone else who loved the Suffering. It was kind of a surprise as it was hard to find and I didnt know anybody who had played the game when I rented it. I thought I was in for some real grade A bargain bin cheese, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I really loved the morality system where you could be a good guy or a real bastard. Good or bad, you were equal parts insane, which added to the feel of the game.
Too bad the sequel was very meh and utterly unmemorable. While the first one had an awesome setting and a mysterious plot, the second one throws that all away by putting you in Boston and adding some stupid, cliche story about the military or some mercenary corporation or some such being involved and serving as villains. The fact that I played through the first probably half a dozen times yet couldnt muster enough interest to even touch the second after one playthrough is telling.

I've had this game for about a year but haven't played it yet cuz of other games (and cause i'm too lazy to re-connect the PS2).
Guess it's about time to dust off little slim again! I've been wanting to play Shadow of the Colossus again anyway :cheer:

10.13.2009 - 06:53 | Xeno-the-HedgehogThe game seems to follow a similar formula to that of the Silent Hill franchise; a tried and true approach. For that reason alone, I am seriously thinking of getting a copy of this game.

I was playing part one and two and i really loved these games!
It made me so sad realising that no part three will come out....it´s also one of my favourite games, thanks from vienna for this short but great review.

10.13.2009 - 14:14 | RezTheRifferI remember playing this game and jumping every five minutes when a random bloody picture would flash on the screen. The abundance of these flashes convinced me the game hated me and wanted to see me piss myself. Needless to say it succeeded.
Great Halloween review Sage u brought back some fun memories of soaked undies.

yeah this was indeed an amazing game and I can't blame you for having it as one of your best games of all time. Now I wished I saved it instead of traded it in, but oh well. Anyway, I loved the doctor most of all and getting all the files on all the different creatures that attack you in the game.
I liked the sequal, but it wasn't as good in gameplay becasue I feel they went all "Halo" on it making you carry only 2 guns at a time which is stupid. We don't want realism to restrict our weapons in games, surely.
A very decent horror game. I tip my hat to you.

I thought I was the only fan of the suffering, but apparently so did everybody else. This game is up there. It's HIGH up there. It's up there with Super Mario 64. what I mean by that is I find no flaw in this game. I would give this a perfect ten out of ten. If this game were at all changed, it wouldn't be so enjoyable. Same with Mario 64. I also love this game because it's so 2 sided. It starts out with the horror element. It's a really scary game, especially the asylum. But the more you play it, the less the effect it has on you. That's when I found the other side to it. It is a very cheesy game. What do I mean? 1 word: Gonzo. The gonzo gun is amazing. It's hilarious. There are so many glitches and cheats to do that make the game so funny. It has become a joke of itself technically. I like that it is "flawed" because that makes it all much better. I want to be able to laugh and be scared, and suffering is one of the few games that has done that for me. I would say fear has too, but fear wasn't the slightest bit scary.
