Oh come on Sage, if the bible is allowed to get away with it then why can't a scifi story? Besides, they at least gave a slightly plausible explanation there, maybe the cross-breed guy causes some kind of anti-incestual problems for the future generations? Yeah I don't buy it either.
I've seen the Sonic movie. In Japanese, not so bad, goofy and enjoyable if you can put aside the usual obvious problems. In English, not so much. Have fun, you poor guy.

Somehow that Adam and Eve thing isn't that far off. Also, technically you could say that in the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve were in a way brother and sister, or related to a lesser degree. So I could buy that.

It doesn't matter if Adam and Eve themselves are related, every succeeding generation would be. (Though according to the bible, Eve was "cloned" from Adam's rib, so yeah.)
The problem with this to ME is-- It's only the biggest damn cliche in science fiction. The TWILIGHT ZONE did it at least 3 times, and the original premise of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA was basically the same idea. Yawn.

I sorta remember not specifically this Gall Force movie, but another one (the Earth Chapters I think). Well anyway, I don't recall much from that once since I was pretty much board all the way throughout it.
And I can't tell you how happy I am that your doing the Sonic OVA! I don't remember much from first watching it except from the fact that I REALLY didn't like Sonic's voice. It just sounded so...weird and out-of-character-like.

Both OAV and OVA are acceptable as they mean the same thing (OAV = Original Animated Video, OVA = Original Video Animation). Although I will admit that it was sometime in the 2000s that only 'OAV' was exclusively being used unlike back in the '90s where both were used interchangeably.

I was wondering when he would get to the Sonic OVA. I'm not saying it is on the same level of stupidly bad as the rest of the junk he reviews, but it does have its flaws and I'm looking forward to how he'll tear it apart. Mostly because I'm starting a pool to see how many jokes he'll use will be the same as from the Youtube series Sonic Bastardized. So far I got takers who have debs on the Great Mighty Poo song and the 1960's Batman theme.

lol, I loved "Sonic Bastardized", I am sure if Sage himself has seen it, it could happen, you can't really watching the movie itself without sprouting off the quotes/jokes from the YT series now can you?

Swear to god every episode was subtitled by a different person, & they don;t get any of the characters' names right.

The original Gall Force trilogy is one of my favorites. Always watch it back to back with Lily C.A.T.
Gall Force is the first, well, anything I've seen that kills off most of the cast.
It's probably the last video in the trilogy that I remember the most. It's baffling, but I loved it.
Remember that guy at the beginning of every Manga Corps release who pronounced both halves of the company name wrong? He'd say "Maynguh Korps."
Ooh, Gunsmith Cats. I always watch that back to back with Original Dirty Pair. Actually, the tomboy in this trilogy reminds me of Dirty Pair's Kei.
Redhead has Lina Inverse's voice.
There's a remake? *_*
I used to be a huge Sonic fan, but the pervy furry fans, amerime art, cancellation of Knuckles' series, & intrusion of Sonic Adventures characters into the comics ruined Sonic for me. & all the games after Sonic 3D Blast sucked.

That anime you're thinking of is probably Macross, in which a pop star making out with her skeevy cousin/manager ends up destroying a whole fleet.
Macross/Robotech was awesome.

You know when he started about starbuck, my thought was this isn't the alien rip off that ends with the alien and ripley of the story being adam and eve is it? Yep it was, I can never remember the name of this thing, I saw it when I was in middle school, and more of my life has gone by having seen this thing than not having seen it. it's still as cheesy as I remember which is to say its not as cheesy as Venus wars, or as I call it that movie with combat monocycles.

I actually have a VHS copy of this, wow it's been so long since I saw it. Sorta a re-telling of Adam and eve space opera style. It's old anime, but good anime. Where the ending makes you smile. Oh and she could just be sitting on the toilet :p doesn't mean she is using it. It's a good place to be alone. Other then that... yay Loli.

I always wondered what Japanese kids were like, considering they grow up on stuff like this... I mean, I certainly don't remember Gummi Bears or Duck Tales teaching us to be perverts.

pretty much, that's the plot - the two races simply can't get along with each other, due to their differences (solnoids being cloned female humanoids, the paranoids a sentient protoplasmic goo that 'pours' itself into its mecha). the oav pretty much states the only reason the plot came into being is that both sides developed a a weapon capable of destroying stars, and people near the top on both sides realized if the war continued they would wipe each other out in a very short space of time.
Its interesting to note this spun off a bunch of articles in a Japanese hobby magazine, where the characters and mecha were represented via scratch-built models. This may haave given more context and character building, and the oav may well have assumed the fans seeing it would already know all this.

Wow, I have not seen Gall Force in a loooong time. I also liked it back in those early days of anime just making it's debut in America. Looking at these clips I'm not sure if I still would. Guess I'll have to find it and see!
