The European Home computer version was a mish-mash of minigames, most of which were okay, though.

I actually like how closely they followed the movie in this game, there are some clever things in the gameplay, they at least tried in that department. Too bad they didn't even try while making the rest of the game.

They put it in because they don't know what else to do besides "Oh, let's go with the Mario format...again...20 years later."

I remember playing the NES version, which was probably better (arguably, anyway). I don't remember it having an escort mission, but it did have its own flaws. Bad platforming and it tried to stay true to the movie by having you cap everyone in the knees after you find John. Points for accuracy, but that doesn't really make a fun game mechanic.

I'm not going to make a big deal out of it like Joey did but I noticed the 99 rounds thing too.
What I will say though is that this whole episode didn't seem right at all. First It felt completely rushed from beginning to end -which is pretty obvious by the "lets just get to this.." style start we got.
It also doesn't have the always welcome banter that you usually have with the audience.
The other thing that sent up a signal is that the game played is said time and time again in the video to be stupid easy.. Its only when we hit Cyberdyne that it gets to the "you'll die.. a lot" level of hard that the games usually featured on the show are known for.
I'm sure there's a reason that no one even needs to hear or see for why the video felt this way. your videos are a service, a joy and not something that we should be grubby hand grabbing for. It's just, I can't help but worry just a little when someone I respect and follow seems to have steered very far away from what they usually drive home with the content of their videos/reviews.
