Well, RolloT's DnD character is a woman, and he's been rule 63'd. Chris is a woman almost half the time nowadays.

I like RPGs but I'm no fan boy but I never seen the point in the spellcater. All the games I played as them they are just to weak. Like this one apparently.

I have a lot of memories of this game. I remember I was at a used game store and my Dad bought me Super Castlevania IV, and he bought this game for himself. I would be in bed trying to sleep for the next day at school, and I could hear the music from this game, lasting till late at night. The overworld music haunts me but everything else has a early SNES sounding vibe to it.

The mage rant was just so funny. All the other mages in other RPGs has badass spells, and this one uses a stick! =D

Not bad, but you might want to turn down the music a bit, or raise the volume of your voice. I have to strain to hear you. You have a lot of useful information, but the picture on screen doesn't always match. Anyway I'm just trying to be helpful so thank you for your work.

I watched both episodes (thanks early posting) and I must say I admire your dedication. As someone who's only recently been going back and playing older RPGs I have say the "you're gonna grind, a lot" statement holds very true (unfortunately).
Anyway, I'm curious as to what strategy game you're going to play. Are you going to break with tradition and do a PC game?

It's kind of funny how you mention Final Fantasy a lot in how this game is designed when many, if not all the elements of it are also present in the recent Dragon Quest game, only pulled off MUCH better.

Grinding is basically what's put me off most RPGs for the rest of my life. I love the stories and characters, but i hate grinding. I just wanna get on with the story!

It seems to me you could use the random encounter system in your favor to grind.
Leave the game on in an easy area, if there are any, for X amount of time and level up^^
Or use the magic speedup button when using an emulator and do it so many times faster. :p

I got stuck in this game. There was a building early on with equipment laying about, but if you take it, the guy in there gets angry, and I think you need his cooperation to progress in the story. So...what do you do? Put the stuff back?
