05.03.2010 - 22:12 | NasikomanStrange game. The only winning move is not to play.
How about a nice game of chess?
-
05.03.2010 - 22:16 | NasikomanOkay, the famous War Games line has now been done at least twice, nothing to see here, move along.
Anyways, this game actually looks pretty fun. Punishingly fun but I am kind of a glutton for punishment.
Hm...Until We Win, Gary Kasparov edition?
Nah.

I always here you say you hate these really difficult games. Do you really? I mean, is it that you just hate the poorly programmed and glitchy bad ones, because otherwise it seems silly to subject yourself to something you despise; unless your some spectacularly great showman willing to do all that for us. :cheer:
In retrospect, it must be the former, because that's my view on it, I adore hard yet well put together and responsive games like Ninja Gaiden, Chakan or Mission: Impossible but loathe unresponsive tie in slock. In any case, I thoroughly applaud your putting up with all manner or difficult games.

05.03.2010 - 23:32 | Surlanlol I heard The Spoony Ones distinctive yell of pain in the madelinette part. I'm I right or am I hearing things? Its right where the video finally loses a round againt the cpu.

05.04.2010 - 01:10 | Ctulol good review. Although the wargames final was a strange way to end this game

05.04.2010 - 04:09 | RaukueHmm... I still suggest trying Plok. One of those good hard SNES games that must be beaten in one sitting because once you lose all continues or turn off the power, gotta start over again.
I know people suggest all the time but ah well. I give my 2 cents and obviously it's up to you, I'm good with or without.
Aside from that, usual good work. Many enjoy watching your videos.

Oh I have this game on my NES! I never knew what the guys I was playing as were called so I just named them John Rambo, Eddie Murphy and Jon Arbuckle (Don't ask)! :P
Well anyway, I'd like to point a few things out:
- Max's bomb is extremely useful against the pushers, clawerswarms, and walking knight statues since it kills them with one hit, immediately neutralizing the danger of being pushed into a pit or losing a lot of HP.
- You forgot to mention that Grant is the only one who can hack the locked doors open.
- You CAN cross the bridge in the snow level if you use Grant to run over the wooden part (not the snowy middle) before it collapses. Personally I never went through the cave.
- For the last skiing section, sticking near the right wall and the top/middle part of the screen eases things up.
- The flamethrower-guy section can be made easier with Nick's disguise and using boomerangs to kill the enemies right when they appear. You should only have one or two to worry at a time using this tactic.
- The password to the computer is actually told to you in a cutscene after you kill the hostage-boss, so it is not technically a spoiler.
- There is actually a cutscene after the guy tells "You have succeeded", so it's practically just part of the ending.
PS. The dialogue in this game doesn't make any sense! Here are some examples:
- This is a ghost temple. Dr. O is asleep now.
- You are too late. The world is ending.
- Air Cargo co. has a list of Sinister 7 names fly to Venice. (What? Did the NAMES fly to Venice, are we told to fly to Venice? Did Sinister 7 fly to Venice? Kinda hard to tell!)
And the most legendary of them all.
- Take the pass, but your life isn't safe!
(Pass or no pass, your life is not really safe anyway!)
So yeah, it is not actually THAT hard, but I still tip my hat off to you for beating it as well.

05.04.2010 - 06:20 | AhrimaniusIf the next game is Impossible Mission cool.
Lucky I live in Europe and had the BUG free PAL version allowing me to complete the game after uncountable tries.

Seriously, this looks like it was inspired by Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, with a few improvements. Speaking of which, I have a recommendation for another hard game: the NES port of Metal Gear. It's bad because 1. you need the manual to beat it, and 2. it's broken and glitchy fifteen different ways. ESPECIALLY on an emulator.
-
05.04.2010 - 11:51 | yourworstnightmareWe all know the NES port of Metal Gear was fucked up. Don't play a game that's hard due to design flaws, play a game that was designed to be hard.

Oh man, I had this game as a kid.
I hated this game and not because it wasnt well made, because surprisingly it was. That's actually why it was so frustrating, 'cus it was so damn hard and as a kid all the false ways you can go tricked me everytime. Furthest I remember getting was the conveyor belts with the statues.
The music was really good though, and I still remember the opening scene which I wish you showed but I thought was really awesome as a kid.
If i recall this was actually fashioned after the show and not the movie. Just as an interesting little factoid.

And now so is the MI theme.
Darn it.
