because I live in the part of the U.S. where you have to go North to go to the South. It's Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I'm about as far away from New York as you can get here. Also if I wanted to get robbed, I'd just got to Miami, Miramar or better yet Liberty City, it makes the one in GTA look like candy-land.
Big Fan though keep up the quality.

I should be able to make it, just need to hop on the LIRR and head on into the city. I might get there early to get a book or two at Midtown. Maybe we can head over to Dave and Busters a couple of blocks down. Their pricey, but where else can you play 8 player Daytona USA and Rambo Arcade in the city?

@PurpleSky, he doesn't, but there ARE people around his area, he's not in a void or anything, so standing there alone, etc., etc. would be pretty unusual since it's a weekend and given this invite. Don't be sour.
@LordKaT, I'm unsure that any place in NYC can take a tri-state area worth of fans... this oughtta be interesting, so I'll see if I can make it despite the first comment lol.

The idea is that I'll be hanging around outside of Midtown Comics for the hour (1pm to 2pm) - then we can fuck off and hang out wherever. I was thinking getting some lunch, maybe do some 8 player Daytona, or we can go to 5th and hit up an irish bar, whaever comes to mind.
The one hour time frame is really just the "meetup time" then we can do whatever. I've got that entire Saturday free :)
I really doubt we'll get more than 10 people, if that. But the more the merrier!

I work very close to that intersection. I didn't get the 8-player Daytona deal, didn't know of any arcades in the area. Too bad I work on weekends too.

05.03.2010 - 16:08 | LinksOcarina86One thing I could suggest, although it is a bit of a hike in NY, is barcade. But that would knock off anyone under 21....although D&B has a 21 and older policy too which is kind of lame.
For those playing at home though, barcade is a bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, which has a ton of vintage arcade machines and craft draft beers on tap. It is magical in many ways.
The only other gaming site I know is in Chinatown, but other than that we got a ton of hot spots in NY to go to anyway, so I doubt it matters much.

I'm sorry, but all this talk about Daytona has got me amped for some mindless racing, and reminded me of this awesome video.
I'll definitely try and be there man, we can shoot the breeze or play some MTG, I promise I won't use Phantom Warrior.......much. :)

I have to ask though, should I bring anything to mark myself as a fan, to be honest i'm usually kind of shy at these meet up things.
