02.28.2010 - 02:28 | KurvosWoah, first vote... I will get rated down for saying that, but what the hell... first time it happens, so be fair with me.
Anyway, you are good at playing impossible games, LordKat. But what about Ninja Gaiden? James Rolfe did not manage to beat that game, no matter how hard he tried. Really, can you manage yourself to beat that game? It is said to be the hardest good game ever.
-
02.28.2010 - 15:56 | LimecatI've asked him this before. But James Rolfe DID manage to beat Ninja Gaiden 2.

02.28.2010 - 04:30 | TuggiemanThere is this game I herd and played. Its not a classic, and its not made from a big company. It was made in the mid 2000's with retro 8 to 16 bit graphics. The game is kind of possible, but more easily to give up than to beat it.
The game is called "I Wanna Be The Guy" and maybe people requested it before. I doubt if you will play it considering that its not made from a nostalgic time. just throwing it out.

03.01.2010 - 14:53 | randomman5I think that'd drive poor Jason over the edge! Silver Surfer was bad enough, but IWBTG?! ARE YOU MAD?! He should totally do it, hehe.

02.28.2010 - 05:41 | SythMan oh man, I totally remember pwning my brother at this game back in the day when we rented it from Home Video Express.
Strange though, how the weapon upgrade and pizza eatting contest made more sense at age 12 than at age 27. . .
-
02.28.2010 - 06:50 | perspectivedetectiveAwesome as always, LordKat! I rented this game, once, as a kid, and it frustrated the hell out of me. Got nowhere near beating it.
Oh yeah, if there were no Domino's Pizza, I would have been unemployed for about 2 years a couple years back. You remember the double-decker pizza they had a while ago? That 'creamy cheese blend' crud that we had to smear in between the two crusts was nasty! It came in sealed plastic bags, and we weren't supposed to refrigerate it. Weird stuff, that...

You're right, this game is not terribly difficult. A lot of exploration and memorization is required, but little skill.
To be honest, it's not that bad of a game, either. Yeah, the Noid is beyond weird, but I actually had fun with this thing back in the day.
A few comments:
-I think the pogo stick on the rooftops is actually a 'Pizza Crusher'. That's right. A pizza crusher. That you can kill enemies with.
-The jumping in the circus is actually significantly easier if you use the Black Ninja scroll.
-There are some areas where, if you jump right, you can play Whack a Mole. And skip the rest of the stage. Quite useful before those boats.

have you heard of or played Battletoads and Double Dragon? I remember renting/having this game for the genesis. And truth be told, I think it's actually easy. I saw a playthrough by someone on the net, I forget the name, but it looked like you could get by using the Bayou Billy jump kick trick for the majority of the game. Give it a check out.
-
Everyone can beat the GENESIS version of Battletoads, dipshit, the NES version is the one that's hard, the GENESIS version is for wusses.
And Double Dragon III's the hard one, everyone's beaten and played Double Dragon I and II. Learn your games.
And by the way, LordKaT beat Battletoads as his 2nd game.

It was a fun game back in the day but i wish they came out with more sponsored games here are my suggestions:
Tony the Tiger in Their Greeeeeat: You play as tony in different sport themed levels to get kids and pros off of "juice" in the morning with the great taste of frosted flakes
Mr Clean: it would be similar to Painter games with you clenaing up the messes
General Mills Cereal's Twilight bowl: You and your loyal companions go to different worlds to save the GM universe Milky Way from going dark chocolate.
Aunt Jemina's Underground Pancake Railroad: Help Mrs J save the soon to be cannibalized animal crackers and cakes from the chompers by throwing sweetened disks of deliciousness.
Green Giant's Great Garden: similar Katamari Damacy (maybe the same game localized like Yo Noid) you take the role of sprout trying to make the world a greener place by creating a ball out of it all.
BK Kids vs McKids Brawl: Nuff said

02.28.2010 - 09:44 | Chol YerlowWhat? No "Avoid the Noid" gameplay? I had that game on 5ΒΌ-inch floppy disks. Man that was a long time ago.
-
02.28.2010 - 09:51 | HentaiGuy42Was this game really that hard? Seriously, this is the first game on UWW that I beat, and I beat it in one rental. It's been a looooooong time since I've played, but I don't remember having a whole lot of trouble.
-
I still recommend you play F-Zero GX, but if you only do NES and SNES games, do Contra III and Contra in said order, because Contra, without 30 lives, is harder than Contra III, without 30 lives.

So you finally got talked into Bebe's Kids? I do not envy you. The Nostalgia (Angry Video Game)critic had some real problems because it seems he didn't identify the power-ups in the game or see that he was missing most of them.
About the Beer bottles though. Doesn't the mice in pails toss out 4-6 beer bottles in a relatively random ark kinda like those plants in many other games that spout random arcs of fireballs?
Kinda disturbing that the Noid's reward for all of his effort in this game is a stack of pizza. But well this game might have also been fore shadowing of the Noid's demise. Think about it. After being driven to the point where eating any more pizza is a disgusting idea how much longer could he bring himself to try to mangle them midst delivery?
