I was pretty bad at this game when I was young. When I tried it a few years later, I cut through it quickly and the professional mode felt as if it didn't give any challenge. I don't think its a hard game at all, especially compared to the NES game.
You skipped the Red Arremer (Gargoyle)in stage 3 by the way... or was there one at all on professional?... Its been a while... I find the crossbow to be a pretty bad weapon once you wear the golden armor, the bullets could end up hitting enemies you didn't want to get and end up being it by a closer enemy because of it, I seriously think its only good for the red arremers. Anyway, nice walkthrough, I guess I'm either good at the game or something since I really never end up agreeing about this game being hard.
Now the Battletoads games on SNES... ouch...

Nice video, and I almost can feel your feelings about this game.
I remember as kid, with my little brother, trying to finish this awesome game. We rent it 3 times (at least), and in the last time, we stayed a whole weekend, with the game always on, to finish it. It was a japanese version, so we don't understand what was written. Then, to our despair, the game started over again! At that point I never heard of a game that we need to play twice to beat it!
We lost in the first level, and gave up. We never rent it again.
In fact, the game it is not difficult, because it is very well designed. But it takes a LOT of time to master it and beat it!

I love SG&G. It's a great game, and I enjoy playing it, despite the ball-crushing difficulty.
But I have nothing, absolutely nothing but contempt for people who talk about the game without actually understanding it. And I have no patience for people who post videos displaying their suckiness.
So I felt the need to register on the site and rant.
************
** First
You seem to not even understand how the treasure chests work, since you implied that the bad chests pop up randomly. They don't; there is a very clear pattern to it. It's all based on the order you reveal the chest in and the armor you're wearing when you open the chest.
Assuming you don't get hit, you will get stuff in the following order:
- Random Weapon
- Bronze Armor
- Gold Armor
- Sun Shield (faster spellcasting)
- Random Weapon/Goddess's Bracelet if on second run
There's nothing random about this. The only time bad chests start showing up is if you get hit or if you open chests after you have the Gold Armor & Sun Shield.
************
** Second
You don't talk about how your weapon changes when you have the higher armors, nor do you even mention the spells. You know, the spells? The things that make getting the crappy Scythe actually worth while? The thing that makes the dagger far superior to the arrows?
Each weapon has an upgraded form and a spell. The upgraded form of the arrows are these auto-seeking shots. These oftentimes suck because they will often go after the wrong targets or target that aren't even there. And there are times where they'll circle around the target rather than hitting it. Admittedly, the auto-shots are great for killing those Gargoyles.
However, what's better for killing Gargoyles are spells. The dagger comes with the Dragon spell that can easily slay Gargoyles, even before they take off. The crappy scythe comes with the devastating twin-tornado spell, which wipes out basically everything on the screen.
What do the arrows get? Chest revealing. Oh, how useful. If you've already found the spawn locations for the chests, then you totally don't need this.
So no, the arrows is not the best weapon. It's a decent weapon; better than most. But its crappy spell and powered-up form makes it good only if you assume you're going to get hit a lot.
************
** Third
You clearly don't understand how the Goddess's bracelet works. Oh, don't get me wrong; you're absolutely right to say it's a crappy weapon. But you don't understand the part of it that actually makes it semi-worthwhile (which is part of the reason why it took you forever to be Sardius).
The bracelet is the only weapon that does different damage based on the range of the target. It hurts things more the closer you are to what you're hi...

You mention little nit pick problems because he didn't do the ultimate, most efficient play through and you say he doesn't have knowledge of the game?
None of the stuff you mentioned is crucial to the game and would be good as nothing more than small tips to make the game a little easier. To make such an accusation that he doesn't know the game, even when he's one of the few people to beat that entire game, and your complaints barely register as serious game problem, you end up being the douche.

    I am like very confused right now. Did you not watch the video. Just cause some people on this site make videos where people actually make fun of bad games, you assume the man hates the game? Watch the video more clearly next time.
