That thing is DEFINITELY older than I am XD But I love the art on the front of the cartridge :3
TROGDOOOOOOOOOR AND STARSCREAAAAAAAAM! :D
I love your hair by the way. It looks really nice.
DARN YOU BATCREATURE! At least you didn't do a 'nooooo they be stealin mah flask' or 'You can't get ye flask' joke XD
The upside to it not having much in the way of music would be that it's easier to do commentary over or listen to music while you play, ne? XD

01.04.2010 - 19:15 | dramagirl994Somebody get this freakin' duck away from me!!!
I guess the Brother's Chaps loved this game as much as Dena does.

01.04.2010 - 19:16 | SpotTheShingo"Get this freakin' duck away from me!"
(Not obscure, I hope!)
-
Nope... not too obscure at all! :P
That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the 'dragon'... I had no clue that the "freakin' duck" came from 'Adventure'.
To those who have no clue: check out the e-mail button on main menu 13 of homestarrunner.com... he's even running away carrying the chalice!

01.04.2010 - 20:01 | EternalNightmareNice video. It's cool that we're getting a Still Gaming related video pretty much every day lately, but ever since Lee started talking about that new show of his, they've started to seem like red herrings. :P

01.04.2010 - 20:26 | faceThElightReally nice review and also cool quotes. :) Had this game when i was a kid, but it was like 10 years after it came out (1978 as mentioned).. Europe

01.04.2010 - 20:35 | Omegatron666That bat reminds me of the guy in ET that steals all your radio parts if he comes in contact with you.

01.05.2010 - 02:41 | Omegatron666Maybe you never did so because you were trying to block out everything that has to do with ET, which is understandable.
Anyway, awesome work as usual there Dena! I hope that you and Lee will keep up the good work, so that you can please us demanding fans. =P

01.04.2010 - 21:10 | Paper_BanjokamiSeeing Trogdor on the cover is reason enough for me to know this will be badass.

I never ever experience Atari since its very old and its been around before I was ever born. But in some ways, I like to hear stuffs about it and how games were in that system.. I think the feel of playing those Atari games was not different from those simple and very old Windows PC games (also DOS games) I played before (except for the fact that I'm using a keyboard instead of a Joystick)
Nice review there, Dena. I wonder where's Lee? :?: Is he preparing for that new show he mentioned :D
Hehe, can't wait for that. Thank you very much again for the vids :D

01.04.2010 - 22:28 | bc4284Wow thats a lot of Homestar references that come from one game. Trogdor's beefy arm can be kinda traced to the dragon in the box art.
The chalice is definitely a predecessor to "ye Flask"
the actual dragon became "that freakin duck"
And of course the penchant for easter eggs.
yea the chapmans got a lot from this game.

Heh, I own this game and I don't even HAVE an Atari! (Though I certainly wish I did!)
My friend and I use to play this on his Atari all the time waaaaaaay back in the day. We never found the easter egg, but we did find something else that was pretty cool.
I can't begin to imagine exactly how it was done, being I haven't played the game in over probably 15 years. But we found that one of the other switches on the atari. (IE: Not the reset one) would cause the Dragons to 'roar' or at least they'd open their mouths and make some sort of noise. If you do this after they have eaten you, you appear near their mouth. Time it right and you can ESCAPE the Dragon, and run off. We've litterly been eaten, done this trick, and managed to run over and grab the sword and KILL the Dragon that had gotten us this way.
Great, great times.
