10.18.2010 - 01:26 | melgibsonI love these LP videos. I wasted $60 on this 'breakthrough innovative revolutionary storytelling experience' and watching someone tear it to shreds is satisfying in a bittersweet sort of way.

At 1st I as like :flame:
But affter the car trail I was like =O
I played Heavey Rain and loved it.
The amount of choise I had didn't really matter to me. I was just thrilled by the story and overall conceprt that is kinda new for gaming.
But I thought that at least there would be some consequences for failing the driving trail...
Got to take my hat off for you Benzaie, you do have a point.
p.s
God, Benzaie! Finding the way from the garuge to the car isn't confusing at all!

I love that Quandic Dream had the gall to call this a new interactive experience when it is just a less interesting and slightly less nonsensical version of Fahrenheit. The controls are the same, the QTEs, and the overall storytelling method. The only difference is how much the game likes the smell of it's own wind and the graphics.
Thanks for ripping up this game a little more. Hopefully you can stand to play it to conclusion. I'll understand if that isn't the case though.

10.18.2010 - 08:20 | MitikI thought you canned this, I'm glad you're gonna finish the "game", this is so funny.
And Crysis 2 i think it's gonna suck. Crysis is my all time favourite shooter, but 2 looks like linear garbage. No PC franchise that touched consoles went well.

i must be the only one who didn't mind this game :sigh: i'll admit theres not a hell of a lot of replay value even with the multiple endings as once you know who the killer is thats it really. i dont know what it is but i have a soft spot for this game and indigo prophecy(Fahrenheit). to the people who hate this game thats kool cos i feel we are all entitled to our own opinion. the way i personally see these games is like a more grown up point and click game, which really doesnt bother me. also i see and hear (no offence Benzaie lol) that nothing happens in the beginning, which i agree with to an extent. the setting up of the characters does tend to drag slightly but i feel that given how many characters their are, it could have been worse. also i must add that they scene in the beginning where Ethan Mars is frantically looking for his son who has run off. yet again i have heard people bashing this scene. personally i found this scene to be quite chilling as i have two nieces and i'm currently pregnant with twins. i have been out shopping with my nieces who are now aged 2 and 5, and as any mother will tell you, you need to watch them like hawks. it really is a parents worst fear realized on screen. i love the story of this game as personally as i love who done it stories where you need to watch out for all the clues so you can work out who the killer is. this is one of the main reasons i love horror movies aswell. anyway, i wanted to share my feelings on this game. as i said before i don't want to change peoples minds on this game, i just wanted to voice my own opinion. =)

10.18.2010 - 10:18 | BakazurazThere is a consequence in failing the car trial, even though the driving portion is nearly identical either way.
If you pass, the GPS tells you there's a clue inside of it (yeah, this whole time he could of just broke it instead of risking his life with the trial). Also there is more gameplay in actually escaping the car.
The clue gives Ethan a handful of scrabbled letters. The subsequent trials, if passed, give more letters. If the player gets all the letters it reveals Shaun's exact location at the end of the game. If the player doesn't get ALL of the clues Ethan has to make a one-time choice out of the possible locations that it could be - which has a direct effect on the ending of the game.

I remember playing this level the first time through and getting really into it, white knuckling the controller as I twisted and jerked it around to dodge incoming cars. Seeing this, and realizing that it was all useless and you get the same result no matter what you do, I'm rather upset. And rather than directing my hate at David Cage or even Quantic Dream for making such a linear game when they spent so much time and effort telling us it's not, I'm just going to aim it at you, Benzaie, for exposing me to such horrific truth.
Damn you, Benzaie. There are things Man was not meant to know...

I didn't think you were going to continue this Benzaie. I'm glad to see I was wrong, because that was very funny to watch. =D
I think that whether you do or don't press something during those action scenes, it just changes the way the game plays out, except in a few important cases where I believe you can have your character die. Anyway, I'm eager to see more of you playing the game and SHAUUUUUUUNNNNN!

Was the recording a part of the GPS? I understood that the killer had timed the route himself and recorded the message accordingly, before reprogramming the GPS so that said recording would play whenever the device is activated.
I agree that the killer's methods are far-fetched (how much computer training did he receive and when did that happen in the game's timeline?), but no more so than the John Doe character's were in David Fincher's Se7en. I understand that I'm probably going to get blasted by people for seemingly arguing against Benzaie, but please understand that I'm not trying to 'troll' or in any way slant Ben, I'm just trying to offer a different perspective.
