Please don't get your hopes up too high. This just looks like a visual/map update of Doom 3. Of course, I haven't played it so I don't know for sure. But seriously, does anybody have any major plans for blind purchasing this game before reading/viewing at least 3 reviews? Doubtful. Look at the track record of disappointment in last 15 years.

I'm defitively hoping it turns out good. Specially after that awful AVP game that came out a couple of years ago. Although it would be cool if the Predator has a cameo at the end of the game.

But has everyone but me forgotten the excellent AVP games from Fox Interactive in the late 90s early 2000s?
Every time a new Alien franchise game is announced it's like people forgot those ones even existed. At least that is what I hear from the reviewers.
The movies would have been soooo much better had they stayed within the time frame of the Alien movies and added Colonial Marines to the mix.

02.01.2013 - 12:39 | EnyawSo have they mentioned how they are gonna work around the fact you can visit Hadley's Hope in the game, even though it was THERMONUCLEAR EXPLOSIONED out of existence at the end of Aliens? This has bothered me since they said you could visit, and I've yet to see anything outside vague handwaving as to how this would even be possible.
Also Gearbox suck. Too much PR and spin for my tastes.

A nuclear explosion does not completley annihilate solid metal and rock - several of the harder buildings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki survived the blasts, and I imagine Space Future building materials are a bit more durable than WWII-era Japanese structures.

02.01.2013 - 12:49 | EnyawDude, the explosion occured around 10 stories underground, centrally located right underneath the colony. Even in the film they say when it blows everything for 10 miles will be crater city.

The biggest flaw of AVP2010 was how short it was (even putting the three campaigns together), so a more fully fledged Marine campaign - which is, in essence, what this is - is more than welcome.

from Guy that has been Re-playing AvP and Avp2 for more than ten year I can tell you that AvP 2010 doesn't come to be close to be as good as does games

So...if the 360 and PS3 version of A:CM features split-screen does this mean the Wii U will feature 3-player local co-op? Two people sharing the TV while the third uses the Gamepad alone? Doesn't really matter to me one way or another since I'm more than likely going to be playing this solo anyway but I really like knowing that option is there.

Man, you are really grasping at straws for reasons to get hyped about this game.
Honestly, this looks a bit pants to me; way too scripted, clashing strangely with the established Alien storyline and overall not very Alien-like. Mind you, I'm comparing it to the fantastic Marine sections from AvP (the early-00s version, not the recent shitty one).

Just something that doesn't insult the skills of those who play FPS with a mouse. See Serious Sam 3 for an example of good input programming.

I didn't pick it up, but I've been hearing rumblings now that it's been released.
Instead of kicking ass it sounds like Aliens: CM sucks ass.
Shame. Can't wait to see how Joe feels after playing it. In the meantime I'll fire up AVP 2 and enjoy a GOOD Aliens game...if I can just remember what happened to the disc.
