[b]This was done by a guy whos 17 and just does these with his buddies for fun. He did a AJ themed machinima before this and I thought that if I helped with the script and made it a comedy others might enjoy it.[/b]
Consider that there are no Trained Writers and Thousands of dollars of income like Machinima.com or Rooster Teeth. But its cool if you dont like it, cuz i do.

not easy. I did a WoW rendition of a musical number from a show. It was about 2
minutes long and it took me about 9 hours and 4 beers to finish.
Hey, "critics", here's an idea. Ditch the judgments, go download WoW
Model Viewer, Adobe Premiere Pro and Fraps, capture and record in game
background footage, animate individual models against a blue screen, import it
to Adobe, edit out the blue screens, place the characters in the right places
and sizes, synchronize the voices/music and THEN see how you do. 10 bucks says
these assholes are all talk.
It took a lot of effort for these people, and no way in hell will I say it was
poorly done. This isn't Hollywood.

Actually, the machinima was used using the game itself and a bunch of friends over Local and Live. So it wasn't as hard as your WoW machinima, but still pretty challenging. (The actors wouldn't stop f***ing around and most of my friends were too busy on MW2 for example.)

Yakety Sax makes anything great. I'm not much of a machinima fan, and it wasn't great, but there were more good, funny moments than bad. So it was okay.

Not the best machination i ever saw but hey! The best one was done by a crew big enough for a real movie! I give it a five to move it closer to 4.5 (which i would give).

Don't hate on Machinima or Rooster Teeth, Joe. [i]Especially[/i] Rooster Teeth. They started off using a [i]closet[/i] as a their recording area.
But really, not everyone has financial backing when it comes to making machinima, and they make great things. It all depends on several things like the method of recording, the script, the quality of the video, the voices, and so many, many more. This machinima was ok at best, with a simple 3/5 stars for making me chuckle a bit.
Try, try again Joe, and maybe next time, you'll get a true laugh-worthy machinima.

12.03.2009 - 16:42 | AusticharAh, but Rooster Teeth was a team of guys. :P This machinima was made by me and a few guys on Live. Joe, Gavin, and Kitten provided voices and some script insight. I was stuck with the editing, organization, capturing, directing, producing. Rooster Teeth had a whole team, so they could divide responsibility amongst each other. Now I'm not dissing them, in fact, they're awesome, but remember to think about both sides.
Sorry you didn't laugh out loud, but you chuckling a bit must have meant you enjoyed it and that's all that matters. ;)

It's okay, he'll probably get a lot better with practice, considering the early RvB's weren't much better. Here's hoping we see plenty of his practice!
