having never been the least bit interested in any previous Fable game, i'm surprised by how good this one looks. i'm most interested in the story and its Song of Ice and Fire vibe. if they can flesh that out well enough and give it the requisite epic feeling without losing the humanity of the characters, then surround all that with competent game design, this'll be a must-buy. otherwise, this'll be my first taste of the Molyneux burn and quite possibly a well-deserved death for the series.

This was a great interview AJ, you hit him with hard questions and I learned a lot from watching this. Altough the one thing I wished you would have asked him about was interacting with the people of Fable 3. When I played fable 2 it felt so fake when I talked to the townspeople. Everybody looks the same so you could marry someone and then see 5 of their identical clones walking down the street. Also they are total morons, to marry my wife all I did was fart in her face and play sock puppets and 5 minutes later she was begging me to marry her. One of the most annoying problems with the townspeople is that everybody loves you (if your good), Sometimes I would do dances in the center of the town and people would love me. So much so that the entire town wanted to marry me, so the next time I come back to town everybody is proposing to me and all the voice actors sound the same. One of the newest gimmicks Peter announced was a "touch system" This is where you can hold somebody's hand and it gives you a better connection to the character. I don't know about you angry joe, but fable 3 scares the shit out of me. It could be a true successor to fable 1 or could be one of the biggest gaming disappointments of the year

I preferred the first Fable game. The characters seemed more compelling, there was no busy work, and the game was longer. Plus I like the quest save semi-cheat, and the sheer number of skills and abilities was great... I hate the fact that they reduced it for the squeal.
Fable II wasn't bad, it was just worse than the original.

I was about to write the same thing Donut. That line made me laugh a lot as well.
Anyway, nice interview Joe. You hit him with some rather hard-hitting stuff and he came back passionately. Ted there really seems to believe in the game and, from what you and he said, it seems like it's shaping up to be the best one yet.
I, like you, am not going to get overhyped for this, but I'll definitely keep my eye on it. Let's all hope the game will be great. :)

I really hope Fable 3 holds up to all the hype its getting.
I'm pretty much sold already though.
Nice work asking those tough questions though Joe. like someone else above me said, i really wish more game critics/reviewers where more like you, it would really make the developers work extra hard knowing that Joe is coming to E3 this year, we better have something ready to show him and blow his mind.

07.10.2010 - 03:33 | CopyleftRecordsI really love the Fable series, unless they do something that seriously deviates from the path the first two games took in a bad way, I'll probably enjoy it.

Heh, you can see Sela, the PR chick from my team at the show, playing for our footage on the kiosk to the left during the first half of the video. :)
Awesome meeting you at the show, Joe, hope I didn't trip up your schedule too much. Great interview, glad to see some honesty in the approach, most are too afraid of offending to ask the proper questions.

07.10.2010 - 03:56 | YataAfter then huge disappointment of Fable 2, I don't think I'll be giving a Fable 3 a try, no matter how good the reviews for it may be. Fable 2 tainted the entire series with it's horrible-ness. The original Fable will still be me favorite game, but not as much of my favorite, all because of Fable 2.
