That gun feature looks awesome! I need this game!
Grenade launcher or shotgun? Maybe a shotgun that shoots grenades? Actually, that doesn't sound too safe. Maybe just the shotgun.

I expect an M4 with my copy now, thanks Joe!

 My god...This is the happiest day of my life, mmmm weapon customization "drooling" sweet...you're basiccally creating your own weapon.

I gotta say that is some awesome interviewing I love it because instead of asking the general questions that some gaming magazines would ask you go in deep with the questions for example you would say that there were some AI flaws from this game and what are you going to do to fix it and also ask questions that gamers themselves have asked top notch,

As for the AS-KR1 itself I prefer a shotgun with penetrating bullets so you can destroy multiple enemies at once, looking forward to using the awesome weapon.

    I want that AK rifle!

All of my fears are gone. I'm definately getting this game.

I like shotguns more than grenade launchers, so I'm hoping that's what they'll come up with. I really can't wait to play with the ASKR-1.

I met those guys dressed up as Salem and Rios when I was at PAX, probably the best booth babes at the show because they actually knew about their own game.

Looks awesome! Can't wait for it to come out. :D

Personally I don't think the under sling attachment would matter seeing as how u can make freaken Frankenstein's monster into a gun, why not just have both attachments available?

  • bojak90  - M4 with my preorder? SWEET

Joe, you have once again impressed me.

Now, as for the AS-KR1, if there had to be a choice between shotgun or grenade launcher, I think I'd go with shotgun but I would want explosive shells to be added to compensate. Also, what if the the canister rotated and made a whirring noise when you used automatic fire? That way your enemies would hear this curious, non-threatening sound right before their buddies were turned into lunch meat by a rapid CH-BOOW CH-BOOW. Yeah, in real life I don't think it would improve functionality but it would look and sound kind of cool.

Did he tell Angry Joe to not get angry? :0

sweet interview, joe. I didnt care too much for the first game, but this piqued my interest for the sequel.

For the ASKRI,Im thinking grenade launcher would probably be more balanced, and have the ammount of damage upgradable as it goes, so the gun essentially grows with you, but still have it start badass, but not too badass, seeing as it sounds like you get it from the start if you have the saved files from the first one, so, like I said, have it kickass, but not too kickass that it ruins the challenge of the game.

Freakin awesome, joe. As far as attachments go, I'd prefer the shotgun as long as they give you the different types of shotgun ammo to choose from.

Good to see they're aware of and addressing issues from the first game too. That AI video was pretty hilarious.

This was a fantastic interview. And woah, a real M4 with a preorder! How can I lose?

Regarding the Ass Kicker's unique sound, I think it'd be pretty cool if it had the sound that Yoko's gun makes in Gurren Lagann. You can hear it here, from 4:39 to 4:48.

How about the preorder bonus be a plastic display version of the AS-KR1?

I personally favour the grenade launcher. Assault rifle + shotgun feels a bit redundant... close-range overkill and little besides.

Conversely, with an assault rifle + grenade launcher, one could use suppression fire to force enemies into cover, then finish them with an explosive from behind. Alternatively, one could focus on firing grenades and use the assault rifle portion to fend off more immediate threats.

AS-KR1 is only reason why this game intrests me little. Not much but little.

The slung under attatchment should fire an electric stun device for non-lethal take downs, or for the sadistic fun of frying a M----f--ker.
On another topic, How is my old PS2 holding up?

IMO the perfect weapon would be a lightweight machine gun similar to the M16 or AK47 with a grenade launching mechanism and a scope attached.

I'm not an expert, though :P

I wonder if Angry Joe will get to head to Gearbox headquarters and demo Borderlands and talk with either Randy Pitchford or the infamous MIKEY!

They are located in Texas, so it'd only take a little road trip.
  • FaustSnake  - The Underslung
If the underslung fired just a solid metal ball for knockback force it would be epic.
Combine that with the sound of a high powered rifle fireing along with the sound of a cannon shot and you got a pretty epic and unique part of weapon.
    It's practically human bowling =D

The first game was pretty weak and generic,i might try the sequel but there's too many better games coming out...

That was a great interview and it really sounds like the guys behind the game really listened to the fans on this one.

    As for the AS-KR 1

I'd have to go with shotgun merely for the simple reason that, if it is a grenade launcher, usually you get less shots. Not to mention having it as a shot gun allows for close up kills in the most brutal ways >:D

definitely looking forward to seeing that baby in action.

    Yay,I got my question in.
Too bad it wasn't really answered.
Still,I'm really looking forward to the game and on the subject of 'nade launcher v shotgun.
    Tough one actually.
I'd like to have both, but going to go with the grenade since it seems like it would be more useful.
Thanks again for having my question in.

Q: AssKicker is a : Grenage launcher or a Shotgun?
A: What you think kicks more ass.
    Ill choose the Shot gun....

now im looking at this and i suddenly wonder if we will have access to the wonderful aa12 shotgun. also because of the way its shaped i could see the underside attachment as nothing other then a barrel clipped shotgun attachment as well. though of course the appropriate rounds would also be nice but i feel that shotgun would still make it the most balanced and easy to use weapon overall. but hey thats just my two cents and nobody has to agree with it.
