As part of the party that was playing in this session (despite my name not being in the credits. :( ), Joe's character was a sorcerer with pretty much nothing but ranged attacks (I don't think he even had a close blast/close burst), so anything that he would have done attack wise would've drawn an opportunity attack...that, and I don't think he really was able to punch like that.
If we was, he never did it when I was around. ;P Heh. Still was hilarious to be exposed to when it happened, and was one of the more hilarious moments of the campaign thus far.

09.05.2010 - 21:19 | JimboWhich DnD session on LordKat's site did this come from? I haven't seen them all yet, but then again, my computer seems to HATE ustream.

09.05.2010 - 21:50 | Captain Freetime™This session wasn't recorded sadly. RolloT's recorder was broken and LordKaT wasn't recording them yet, I think. By sheer luck, it was recorded by someone who posted it on Youtube. And the world rejoiced.

It's nice you're trying to help, but after listening to the entire thing it wasn't there, nor is it in the follow-up part in which
Joe's character dies
. This was the first recorded session and I saw every session Joe was in after that one, so I can say for sure it wasn't recorded on LK's site.
The only fragment I've found was a fan's recording over here .

For context, Joe was a sorcerer that had status effects landed on him that put him at a huge disadvantage, and also was in a situation where practically any attack he could use would've drawn an opportunity attack, IIRC, and caused him to get the hurt thrown on him.
It was in Grae's best interest to kill the guy at that moment.

I've had that happen way too many times in a game.
DM: You're down to one HP, and paralyzed by the ranger's poisoned arrow. It's about to eat your face with some BBQ sauce. Your action?
Me: My fighter...
Ranger: Called shot to it's eyes. (rolls) triple crit.
DM: Each arrow punctures it's eyes, killing it instantly.
Me:... I KNEW IT! You BASTARD! YOU SHOT ME ON PURPOSE!! :grr: :notfunny:
The rest of the party's laughing at me the rest of the night.
the power ranger theme is so epic
Yeah that's powerglove for ya, you should hear "So Sexy Robotnik." That cover's awesome.
Angry Joe is a true fighter of men. Too bad that didn't prevent him from being killstolen
I'm a complete and utter noob to D&D due to the fact that my parents never allowed me to play it when I was 12,(Y'know the whole D&D is satanic deal... :uhh: So I'm guessing the the "Fighter Of Men" was the category of demon that was Angry Joe's D&D character? (If that question made any sense.)

When I saw this on the AJS site, I was laughing my lower ribs out. But this one seems longer then the original version in terms of background commentary. Urgh now I have toothpaste on the screen.

And not all rangers do that.... just the majority :uhh:

09.06.2010 - 05:48 | Lucia32D&D Rule #3712:
"Save a PC from a whupping, they'll hate you. Let a PC get whupped, they'll hate you."
I was visiting some old friends of mine who had become Franciscan Friars and we decided to have a quick D&D campaign before I returned home.
So yeah, it was me, my cousin, my friends and some of their brothers in the order. One of whom was running the campaign.
We get jumped by a mindflayer, and I chased after him (in order to complete an optional quest that the DM promised would have given me some cool swag).
Got my ass handed to me, but stubborn as I was I kept going. Before the psychic squid could continue beating me from pillar to post, one of the friars pulled a really lucky roll out of his hindquarters and took out the mindflayer.
I was furious! I ranted for a good ten minutes (out of character, mind you) about how I had the situation under control and how I needed to beat the beastie myself.
Poor guy. He looked so spooked and all he could say was, "I was just trying to help. I'm sorry."
I felt really bad afterwards.
Yeah. Sometimes pride can be a dangerous thing.
...kill stealing is still a punk move though. BECAUSE WE WERE FIGHTING LIKE MEN, er, WOMEN, er, A WOMAN FIGHTING A MAN!

na the "fighter of men" thing has nothing to do with D&D, Joes character is a tiefling, a race of humans that long ago made a pact with demons, and so they changed into the half demon thing they are now.
P.S: this needs to be a T-shirt
