I played the demo a few days ago and yeah, while hard it was enjoyable. This is definitely one of those few games that rewards patience and skill over luck.
Regarding the game's "controversial" humor, I am sure that was the intention. Whether you agree with it or not, they want a reaction, otherwise it wouldn't have been as memorable as it is now.
But now I wonder... if Smiley Man was an actual comic with bad stories and very sexist undertones, would Linkara trash the living hell out of it? Hell... Could Linkara be Smiley Man's worst enemy?

I love how Joe questions whether his Bizarro self should be happy, and the clone Joe just ignores it. It reminds me of that Seinfelf bit when Elaine was asking how Bizarro Superman was supposed to work.

So, people say the game is hard because it doesn't have checkpoints every three seconds? Wow, we are so spoiled!
But you DO get penalized for dying... in a way? You get different money bonuses at the end of a stage, and you get a special bonus if you don't die too much!

wow. You actually got me interested in game for the xbox live thing... too bad I recently brought Cladun for the PSP.
I may buy this in a few months.
Oh damn it! It would have been cool to see the last part of this review... with Joe yelling at himself or fighting himself in the green screen. Giving us the false impression that there really is two Angry Joes.

So he jumps from world to world but his weaponry doesn't change? That seems a bit odd. Is he really running around in a fantasy comic with guns, or are they at least like "magic crossbows" or something?

They actually kind of are, coincidentally. I just finished the Nanoc section. You start off with regular guns, but Smiley accidentally murders a dude, so you end up using dart guns.

....-smacks- Nobody likes pronunciation Nazis. You don't see me jumping down a foreigner's throat every time they pronounce an English word a little off or use improper sentence structure. I just respect that they cared enough to try and learn another culture/language.

In regards to Sergei Andropov's question-I would say Angry Joe gives 8/10 reviews for games he found fun, and worthy of a purchase, but have 1 or 2 flaws that keep it from being a truely awesome game you wont forget 10years down the line. The truely great ones we never forget, and the truely bad ones we wish we could forget. I feel that way about baldurs gate 2-its been what 10years and I still think its one of my all time favorite games. -my 2 cents anyways. -Dream

Well, it does say if we spend 2400 this month, we get a free 800 ... i already spent one 800 on the Liars and Cheats pack for Red Dead Redemption - perhaps this is the game i spend 1600 on ... or was this 800?
Though i am one of those weak players - i was able to get through and beat the first 2 God of Wars (the first one on the highest difficulty), but after them i became exhausted of having to have lightening reflexes. So much so that i don't want to ever have to do that again.
I'm proud i stuck in and did it, but having to swear my head off at the top of my lungs, and throw things around, and raise my blood pressure just to keep playing games like that, is why i'm probably going to opt out.
And i never made it past the first level in Ninja Gaiden, but i didn't really want to. Just not the control/ability scheme i could get used to, so on that, would people still recommend this game to me?

Is it weird that the Bizarro Joe reminds me of the Scout from Team Fortress 2? The character style is similar ... whatever.
Nice review Joe! This title looks really cool and, well, bizarre. Also, nice moves at the end. :snicker:

Splosion Man remains the best Twisted Pixel Game with insanely fun 4-player coop and tons of levels... and just as stupid... and it was only 800 pts...
