THIS movie, "The Magic Begins", is actually fun, hilarious, bizarre and enjoyable enough to make fun of, let alone sit through.
Dragonball Evolution was more like a painful rape.

Who the hell thought this movie would be better with "enhanced" visual effects? The bulging eyes, the pointless "Virtua Fighter"-esque CG fights... Lucas made much more sensible enhancements to his Special Edition.

What you just watched wasn't even based on the anime or manga. It's based on the tale that INSPIRED the anime and manga. Curse Of The Blood Rubies has nothing to do with this film, at all.

This film was based on the first arc of dragon ball, although I think what webbman76 meant was that it has more in common with the first dragon ball movie "curse of the blood rubies" than the actual series. That movie in itself was an alternate retelling of the first arc much like this film. A bit complicated to explain through a comment lol.
