Arkle's Vegan Recipe of the Day for July 20th, 2011: Vegan Pizza Roll
FTR, I probably won't be able to do these every single day. I've been good so far, but it's only a matter of time really.
1 bag Raw Pizza Dough
1 package Daiya Mozza
1 package Vegan Bacon (yeah, this may be the toughest to find; if it weren't vor veganessentials.com I'd be stuck on some of these; even the health food stores in my area are light on the vegan goods. If I were just a vegetarian I'd be in heaven though. If I believed in Heaven anyway).
Chopped Spinach. Insert clever Popeye joke here.
Chopped Sundried Tomatoes
Put some flour down on your counter, and stretch out your pizza dough.
Put a thin layer of mozza on the dough (1/2 the package)
Add a single layer of vegan bacon
Preheat oven to 375F (I'm a 'Merican, none of that them there metric stuff ;-) )
Add
a layer of Spinach and some sundried tomatoes, and if you want you
could do some roasted Garlic, or caramelize some onions (for even more
flavour, caramelize in hot sauce), roasted red peppers would be good to.
Add a another layer of your mozza (other 1/2 package)
Drizzle olive oil lightly over everything.
Roll the entire thing, and tuck the ends in. Lightly drizzle olive oil over the top, and a sprinkle of sea salt. Cut a couple of slices in the top of so the inside cooks.
Bake for 1/2 hour. That's enough time to re-watch an episode of Arrested Development if you happen to have the DVD set. :-D
Cut the roll into slices, and bickety-bam! Vegan Pizza Rolls!
