The Mr. Sam Show - Games Make You Sad
Super serious episode.
Super serious episode.
Hello, I am Jonathan Darque, currently resting, i.e not acting actor.
So here I am, a month removed from my last gig and the unbearable dullness and anxiety has crept in. This comes with many pitfalls that have to be managed and avoided at all costs. Something which I am terrible at, seriously, I suck at avoiding temptation.
As I look around my study, I notice the girlfriend's robe on the floor. Rather than smuggle a toothbrush in, she managed an entire nightwear wardrobe. It may come to the awkward moment, where I may have to remember her name instead of constantly referring to her as "love" "Darling" or "Teela".
Anyway, there are other things that are slowly taking over my brain in its search for stimulation. The night I performed the whole of Hamlet in my lounge to my two cats, Tao and Cleo was a new low. I was grateful that they merely left the room in tandem, rather than eating my face.
...
We're trying out a new format this episode, so you actually get to see me. Also, we play some game with some toys and stories and twos and stuff.

Hello there fellow soul, come sit by the bonfire and hear as I share my tale. the tale of how I came to be a hollow soul in this realm of the undead.
I had defeated the Gaping Dragon in the Depths under the Undead Burg. The seemingly endless maw of teeth running the length of its body had come close to enveloping me in the heavy armour you see me wearing now, lumbering as I had at times. But assistance saved me. Still in possession of my humanity as I was, I had summoned the proud and powerful Knight of Astora, Solair First Born of the Sun, himself. With the dragon drawn to attacking the lawful crusader, I easily carved it's tail off with many swings of my hand axe to claim the Dragon King Great Axe before ending the horrific aberration with a blast of pyromancy. It is my specialization and most powerful, if limited, tool.
Rooting through it's remains I came upon a bile covered key marked 'Blight Town'. I paused to consider how it had come to be in the gut of this demon before glimpsing the various corpses strewn across the room. I'd been far too preoccupied with the battle to have noticed the signs of myriad defeats. Clutching the key and praising the sun for Solair's assistance, I pressed on.
Returning to the dank sewers that had lead me to the dragon, I made for the only door that had blocked my way previously and tried the key. The door swung open and I peered into a circular pit with narrow walkways leading to a ladder. I carefully edged around the pit, descended the ladder and took in my surroundings. Ahead of me were a series of rickety wooden walkways covered in a variety of clutter, things that could easily cause me to miss my strikes were I fighting nearby, edges I might catch with the edge of my axe. Even the air looked unwelcoming, awash with a haze of brown particles, the blight of Blight Town no doubt. Immediately I knew I would have to fight on those walkways, that dodging blows was about to become a nightmare of positioning, leaving room to move without plunging to my death. And then I saw a likely executioner, a lumbering obese undead wielding a club longer than the entire length of my body.
I descended a second ladder from the platform that had served as my view point and began a careful approach. The hulking mess turned and immediately came at me, stopping a few steps ahead, gripping it's club in both hands and moving for an overhead swing. I stepped back quickly as the tip of the hammer slammed so close to me that I felt the fetid stale air move. Looking back for a moment I realised I was on the edge of the walkway already and had to get away. I swung with all my might, leaping forward and landing a heavy blow with my axe. The beast did not react, no sign that it had even noticed the hit as it dragged its club back behind itself with one hand and swung again in a wide horizontal arc.
...When talking about fond memories of older
games, it is impossible for me to avoid thinking about point-and-click
adventure games (or even older ones before the clicking was invented). These
types of games have been a large part of my childhood, and I am very sad that
these types of games hardly ever gets made any more (apart from the episodic stuff from Telltale Games that is, but those doesn't count). One of the best examples of the genre is Sanitarium...
Imagine that you're driving a car on a serpentine road and then, suddenly, you notice that your brakes aren't working. You struggle to keep the car under control, but eventually you lose the battle and drive off the cliff. You're knocked unconcious and when you wake up you're in a cell in a very terrifying place filled with clearly insane people. You remember nothing, not even your own name. Your face is covered in bandages and you are wearing some sort of hospital garments. Screams can be heard in the distance and right above a man is repeatedly smashing his forehead against the wall. This is where the game starts, and it is by no means the most disturbing location in the game.
As I mentioned, you start the game with no real information about who or where you are, so the beginning of the game is spent trying to lure information out of the insane asylum inhabitants. As the game progresses you travel from one strange and peculiar place to the next (the village only inhabited by children being my personal "favourite") as you learn more about yourself and what led you to this point. It is seldom clear whether you are in a real or imaginary place, if the events in the game are really happening or is just a figment of your imagination, and that is what makes the game so very exciting.
...Today on Gaming with Killatia we take a look at hit rpg for the Gamecube Tales of Symphonia. Now Granted its not often that we talk about role playing games on this review show but I enjoyed Symphonia so much that I wanted to play it once to see if I still enjoy it. The answer? Watch to find out

Hello all! I am The Original. I have been a long time fan of film, TV, games, etc. I love all internet reviewers, and a member of TGWTG's website for a long while now(probably going on a fan for about 4 1/2 years). Anyways, I digress. I recently finally acquired the want and time necessary to start what I truly have been wanting to do, which is to review and just be a part of the "scene" that's been rising(at least since I've been seeing on the site). All I want is to be able to come on here, write some thoughts, articles, etc. Hopefully I will be allowed because this is a general passion of mine. With due time I hope to start doing videos(which I would make versions for some of sed articles of mine) and have my own show, which would be a dream come true. Oh and in case any of you might comment, NO! I do not call myself The Original based on any sort of ego trip or sort of "claim to fame" I'm trying to gain, it was just a nicknamed that spawned onto me....THAT IS ALL! Haha. Anyways, I hope to start writing on the site, and I hope you all can take the time to just let me express my opinion as I will let you express any of yours.

As a quasi follow-up to my previous lists based on oddity in video games (Enemy attacks and customs/tendencies), this time, we are looking at game elements that have real world applications yet have dissimilar effects in video games. Whether it is deliberate developer design or just whimsy on the programmer's part, I'm sure we can all agree that these following objects don't do quite what they should!
Using well-known power-ups that just have odd or unrealistic effects (SMB Mushrooms/Mega Man 2's Metal Blade) but are limited to video games would make the list too long and probably not very interesting. For example, you can't say that PacMan's power pellets are odd because you can't chew animal food pellets and have a similar effect in real life, but no one would expect them to. (Don't forget alcohol in a myriad of games; sorry college freshman...)
As always, this is my list and only includes games that I've played. If you have a suggestion, make a comment below or consider making your own list on the topic.

Hello, everyone!
My name is Master Graveheart. I'm a bit of a hodge podge nerd whose been coming to thatguywiththeglasses.com for a couple years now. At least since the Team Brawl was first aired. I won't claim to watch everyone, mostly because I just can't, but I try to stay familiar with what just about everybody does. I have my favorite reviewers, of course, but that's another blog.
The point of this blog will primarily be my own reviews... primarily because, well, I'm a writer, but I'm no film student. I have ideas, but no acting appeal. Plus, have you heard my voice?! Oh, right, you haven't... good for you! :)
But, in all seriousness, I think for me, for now at least, I'd like to stick to text reviews. Eventually, I'll throw in images to make it nice and purdy, but for the most part, they'll just be my own thoughts. One thing I won't do is bring something down for not being like another. I'm going to do my darndest to judge it on it's own merits. Now, if there was something that worked better elsewhere that was tried with what I'm reviewing, I'll bring it up, but I won't expect it to be something else.
Also, I'll try to keep my blogs as "safe for work" as possible, primarily because I keep my language pretty clean in my personal life too. I won't guarantee that I won't swear at all, but it won't be unnecessary. Translation: If you don't have a problem with Linkara's videos in terms of language, we won't have an issue either. ^_^;
...Let's just get to the point!

Now, I'll admit I'm not the most consistent blogger. I've not updated my blog for awhile until this post (which is copied from there). Moving to a new flat and sorting out my second year of uni has been...interesting, to say the least. Now that I'm finally in a somewhat comfortable position again, and doing some vaguely interesting stuff at University, I wish I could say I'd be more regular but that'd probably be a lie.
However, I think I've found a way to do something that could be interesting, educational and fun. I'm going to launch a stream. Having compared a variety of sites, I decided ustream.tv is probably the best site for this in terms of professionalism vs free vs features. Whilst the "conversation with a viewer face-to-face" feature of Stickam is pretty cool it's too "teen-centric" and "omghotgirllet'swatch" for my liking, and justin.tv's audience seems too gaming focused (tech users, not techies). And Livestream too "free and sucks, or expensive and is awesome" for me to afford.
So, I'm going with ustream.tv, with my new upcoming show: Let's Code!.
Yes, Let's Code: Because that's what I do.
And we are back with a vengeance like the herpes we all will eventually catch from public restrooms. The moral to that story just like all of them is be yourself and don't do drugs.
But The PutzCast is back with a new episode full of all the terrible things you aren't allowed to say in polite conversation. This time we are joined by a friend of Zombi's who has an amazing talent and has done our very piece of fan art! Zombi has been hyping how much Nappa will hate him after this episode so here is the proof it was true. This time we discuss the "greatest invention in the history of ever!" How we all got started on the internet, Zombi tells a personal story of how he doesn't think things through and it get him hit a lot and Much! Much! more!

Also new to the site is The PutzCast Store! Where you can find tons of PutzCast merchandise. Keep in mind the store is new and is still being worked on, adding new designs and organizing it. Dead Island Review on GotGame right now:
http://gotgame.com/2011/10/13/gaming-with-killatia-dead-island/
This time we're going old school on today's Gaming With Killatia with Tetris Attack, a fun puzzle game that did not come from the mother land of Russia
Its national poetry day here in the UK and the theme is "games" so i thought I'd give it a go:
My name is Redtaigobble (aka Sakibranton on YouTube) and I've decided to post my old Top 10 show on Deviantart onto good ol' TGWTG! Let me know how you like the lists and I may do exclusive countdowns on this site. With that said, let's begin.
I love Playstation. Even to this day, I have more games and demos on the
console than ANY OTHER CONSOLE I HAVE OR DID OWN. And today, I'm
counting down my ten most memorable games of the PSX. Off we go!
10) Demolition Racer
Think
of this as Need for Speed meets Destruction Derby... with ROCK MUSIC!!
While it is very playable and fun at first, unlocking everything in the
single player can be a bitch. I mean winning doesn't mean coming in
first, but by the amount of points you have if you're alive by the end
of the race. And if you're 1st, multiply 25 with your points, you may
not even be first at all! Oh well, it's fun and you get to bash cars.
And maybe that's why I find it fun, and for this game to kick off this
countdown.
Original PSM verdict: 7/10
09) Worms (1995)
THIS
is the game that started my lust of violence. Really, all you do is
blow up little critters with bazookas, grenades, dynamite, kamehamehas
and even fracking sheep! THEY HAVE SHEEP, ISHIZU!! Sure the graphics may
have sucked back then but that's for the sequels to improve on. Plus
the first game doesn't have the holy hand grenade. Man that's a
hiliarious weapon! Fun and challenging, the Worms series will always
have a place in my heart.
Original PSM verdict: 7/10
08) Future Cop LAPD
This
is a game that used to bring me, my brother and my dad together... take
the role for a police robot in the futuristic version of L.A. and blow
shit up. Every level in the main story mode has a different set of
weapons (in Gun, Rocket and Special forms) and you can have 2 players in
it as well; and you have to work together to win the day coz if one of
you dies, you BOTH DIE! HAHAHAHALKDMFN. There's also another mode (both 1
and 2 player) where you have to take your enemy's [a flying plane with
Mojo Jojo's voice] base before he gets yours, with tanks and airships...
it may not sound much but... IT IS REALLY ADDICTIVE!! I wouldn't have
remembered this game if it wasn't put on sale recently in the
PlayStation Network store, so Kudos for that. So if you get the chance,
try this game today!
Original PSM verdict: 8/10
07) Theme Hospital
A
game that I used to play on the PC, but after purchasing it on the
PlayStation Store [Again, kudos] I found myself playing this Simulation
game based on NHS for a while. There are many ways to run your hospital
with GP offices, operating theatres, wards and even toilets! ... But the
trick is to not be affected by the recession or GAME OVER! ... Yeah.
Even after game over, you want to come back for more... I don't know why
exactly, but by this I enjoy playing this game and hope that after stop
playing another certain game in this countdown, I'll get back to this
'miracle worker'. Ha, that's not funny.
Original PSM verdict: 8/10
06) Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
This
is one of those game of which I CONTINUOUSLY played the demo version.
But when I went to my mum's house one evening in 98 and found the full
game in my spare room... HOLY SHIT!! I'm serious, I wouldn't mind
playing this platforming brain-tester in the future again. Basically
you're a high-pitched alien trying to save his friends from evil sausage
coperate bosses. Saving the other slaves is optional, but depending on
how many you save by the end of the game effects the ending. Yes it's
one of THOSE games, like Silent Hill, inFAMOUS or Shadow the Hedgehog
[God that was a average game.] If you have a chance to play this game,
do so because it will be one you won't be forgetting soon enough.
Original PSM verdict: 9/10
05) Hogs of War
This
game is based on another game in my countdown Worms... but in 3D...
with swine... voiced by THE GOD OF VIOLENT COMEDY RIK MAYALL!! [GIRLISH
SQUEAL] I mean I had hype for this game only because it was like Worms,
but DAMN! You get 6 countries filled with fresh meat [English, American,
French, German, Russian and Japanese] where you have to control the
islands of Sautraliasia. You have the usual weapons like Bazookas,
machine guns and even trotters, but unlike Worms you get to control
TANKS AND EVEN TURRETS SWEET JESUS! And you get to decide the rank of
your pigs like Gunman, medic, engineer and sniper each with their own
strengths and weaknesses. I only completed the game once the true way,
but the rest of the time, I use a unique code which lets all your pigs
boosted up to the second-to-last rank. You may think it's cheating but
TRUST ME, play it the right way and you wil find out why Hogs of War is
so challenging... yet SOOOOOOOO FUNNY! lol
Original PSM verdict: 8/10
04) Croc: Legend of the Gobbos / Croc 2
Originally
introduced to me by an old friend from primary school, I got the first
game of this cute platformer for my next birthday and boy was I hooked.
It's about a young crocodile who is raised up by furry balls, and after
they are captured by an evil monster by the name of Baron Dante, he is
to go and rescue them all. I love the first game coz it's old skool 3D
platforming filled with surprises, secrets and not to mention fun boss
fights. I also find the music to be cute and memorable as well, and it
was no surprise that the sequel [released 2 years later] would hype me
up. The sequel had elements of the first game, but really there's more
freedom, plus they add side quests in there and you have to purchase
some stuff in order to unlock some secret stuff. These games are pretty
rare now so if you find them in your gaming store, BUY IT! You'll be in
for a treat!
Original PSM verdicts: 7/10 (C:LOTG), 8/10(C2)
03) The Unholy War
Holy
crap do I love this game! I mean I'm playing it right now as it goes!
It fuses the strategic elements of Command and Conquer with the insane
fighting style of Super Smash Bros. There are two teams, each filled
with seven unique characters/races with their own strengths and
weaknesses against other players. And each time you complete the
strategy mode on a higher difficulty, you get a well deserved reward.
Aside from the addictive gameplay, I also love the characters! Most of
their death moans and victory dances crack me up EVERY TIME I AM
SERIOUS! Another one of this games that are rare now, so yeah... I'D
recommend it! TEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!
Original PSM vrdict: 6/10
02) Crash / Spyro series
I
cannot compare two of my oldest and dearest friends in the gaming
world. Whenever I think Spyro the Dragon, I think Crash Bandicoot.
Whenever I think of Crash, I think of Spyro. See, it's VERY HARD. Let's
just say that these platforming legends have gotten critical acclaim for
their PS1 outings and have gotten average-positive points on their
future titles. And I can compare these two guys I REALLY can't.
Every
Christmas from 1998-2000, I would be on one room... the game room...
with these guys. SIGH, memories. They will always have a place in my
heart, for now and for always...
Original PSM verdicts for Crash: 9/10(CB), 8/10(CB2:CSB), 9/10(CB3:W), 9/10(CTR), 8/10(C-Bash)
Original PSM verdicts for Spyro: 8/10(STD), 10/10(S:GTG), 10/10(S:YOTD)
01) Final Fantasy VII
My
first RPG game will always be my favourite game of all time. Everyone
knows the story, structure and avaliabilty by now so I won't brag... if
you don't, then TO HELL WITH YOU!! I still remember the first when me
and my brother first completed the game... when we are high schoolers...
and it was WAY past our normal bedtime. Yeah, we were PRETTY tight on
disipline back then. Overall, Final Fantasy 7 is THE game for me. If you
can't find the original disc version, it is now avaliable in the
PlayStation Store [Yet again kudos] for £6.99 so yeah not bad.
Original PSM verdict: 10/10
And that's the list! If you have any other PSone games that you consider a classic, comment in and beat it with a shovel. Until next time, laters!
By now I'm sure you've all seen the first review for Arkham City and have seen that it scored a perfect score. I am very excited for this game, they have so much going on here with the story, the gameplay, and all the nods to the Batman Continuity. What really sold me to this game was seeing all the new villains in this game such has Hugo Strange, Mr. Freeze, The Penguin, Talia Al Ghul, Soloman Grundy and the many more that are apparently going to be revealed to us soon. And I was also excited to see that Joker was taking a back seat in terms of being the villain in this one. Don't get me wrong, Joker is one of my favorite villains of all time, however it adds a different flavor to the game when you give the main villain role to someone that's very insane but very different from the Joker. And not to give anything away (although Kotaku and IGN sure did a good job of that) but seeing what happens to one of the villains of the game seems a little anticlimactic. Gameplay doesn't seem that much different which is a good thing in my opinion. If you have a combat system that works one doesn't need to change it, they simply need to make simple tweaks and additions to the combat system, they don't need to change it so we can say, "Wowzers that looks so much different and KEWL!". Voice Acting? It's Kevin Conroy voicing Batman. When you have Kevin Conroy voicing Batman, you can guess that the choices for the other characters will fit. Enough said. In terms of how they have been selling it? Well honestly they haven't really been doing a good job with selling me to preorder the game for the skins. I mean when I saw them I basically had a huge Nerdgasm, but when you have different countries receiving different skins, you kind of lose people on that. For example, the US gets The Dark Knight Returns skin while the UK gets the Batman Beyond skin. Not that there's anything wrong with the DKR's skin, but I really wanted to get all those other skins, especially the Batman the Animated Series skin, I'd feel like a Bad Ass playing with that. But that's just how I feel about, they'll probably release a week or a month later after release so that's my only complaint there. Otherwise they have been selling it very well. Showing Batman fighting against foes that would seem damn near impossible to stop is great. The thing I noticed with the release of Arkham Asylum was that with each reveal of the villain, it would appear that awesomeness of the villains would take away from Batman -- nope. A few weeks before release they showed off trailers of Batman kicking ass, showcasing how awesome he'd be in the game. That's great advertising, show us how mighty the villains are and then show us how kick ass Batman's going to be. That's kind of what they're doing here however, they are showing Batman being a bad ass here right alongside the villains.
Today on Gaming with Killatia we go gorilla style so we can talk about Star Fox 64 3D, an awesome remake of an awesome Nintendo 64 game made for the 3DS.
My Tetris Attack review is up now on gotgame:

After the last episode we thought maybe we should tune down the bit of controversy in Episode 5. Then we thought “Fuck that!” It’s funnier this way.
So this week we talk to a good friend/editor eXthMODE. We talk a bit about The Deadliest Warrior, Zombies, some controversial idea and South Park. And just when you thought it was all done, what is that in the distance? Puppet porn?

A night-time stroll and vlog turns into an impromptu opinion piece. Oh, and college football has fallen to the Shadows.
Shadowbird's Pregame Discourse, 2011-12 Week 1:
http://shadowbirdsrandomcrap.blogspot.com/2011/08/shadowbirds-pregame-discourse-2011-12.html
On to the next one. Supreme Warrior is a unique fighting style game for the 3DO. Let's be honest, the game sucks, so enjoy watching me get my ass kicked on this episode of 8-bit recall. Go to http://www.8bitrecall.com/
Ever feel like the computer is out to get you when you're playing a game? Well it is. It hates you and wants to destroy you will and these are the Top 5 games it best happens in!
These are the situations where things are just unfair for seemingly deliberate reasons, like the devs wanted to make the game harder, but not hard in a fair way. I tried to avoid any multiplayer antics, as there is always a cheap way to play with friends.
There's a lot of free First Person Shooters out there, too many to talk about right now, but today I want to talk about my favorite... Or former favorite. Whatever! This, is Combat Arms!
For those of you none the wiser, Combat Arms is, (of course), a free first person shooter developed by Doobie Studios, and published by Nexon, (who also created the well known Maple Story). It was released in 2008 after a short beta. The game has become rather successful, garnering around 5,000,000 players, not bad for a free game! It also has generally positive reviews.
Enough with the history, let's talk about the game, starting with the lobby system.
One thing I was going to talk about with this game was the AMAZING lobby system it used to have. Easy to read servers, easy to understand lobby system. If you played it, you know what I mean, it was better than lobby systems in mainstream games like Call of Duty, or even Valve's games... Then they had to ruin it. They released a major update that completely redesigned it, not what do we have. Grey, grey, and, you guessed it, MOREFRELLING GREY!!!! Not only this, but everything is SO much harder read, weapons are impossible to sort through in the store, and now al the NXweapons are mixed in with the GP weapons... Ugh, NX points. We'll get to that later, but I should probably explain the weapons system.
The way the purchasing system works in this game is quite different than most games. You still get money, or as it's known in game, GP, (gear points), to get your items. The thing that is different is that you actually RENT your weapons and items, the longer the rent, the more expensive. This is actually rather nice because you can spend a small amount of money on a weapon to try it out before you invest in a longer rental. You can also get things like a bigger backpack to carry more weapons, bigger grenades, or jackets to make you run faster or take less damage. It's not a bad system, but one of it's major flaws is the NX system.
The NX points system is your average, "real money," currency to buy in game items. I get that, it's a free game, they gotta make money somehow right? The problem is that there are SO many exclusive, weapons that have MAJOR advantages over the normal weapons. Like the ability to purchase a character that runs significantly faster as a normal character, equip her with a minigun, and a grenade launcher to completely demolish all the normal players in the lobby. It's annoying. Speaking of this character, take a look at this: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101107051411/combatarms/images/thumb/f/f6/Viper%27s_Reveal.jpg/180px-Viper%27s_Reveal.jpg that makes sense right? Covering your whole body, EXCEPT YOUR CHEST AND HEAD! But of course we HAVE to have tits in this game right?!? Anyway, back to the NX system, if they balanced it more, I wouldn't have a problem, but as it stands now, you can make yourself a super soldier and squash the normal players like bugs.
The gameplay is pretty standard, you have traditional modes like Free for all and team deathmatch, (Elimination and One Man Army respectively), as well as other classic modes like Search and Destroy or Capture the flag. There are also a few special modes like fireteam, (a campaign style set of levels, or infection survival levels), and Quarantine, (a "zombie" mode very similar to the counter strike mod).
In the regular modes, you kill all the enemies until a set score limit, enemies take more than a standard amount of damage, more than games like Call of Duty, but less than games like Team Fortress 2 or Halo, (in regards to player health, not gameplay). There is no regenerating health and a pretty straightforward stamina system that drains when you sprint. As mentioned earlier, you can use a large selection of guns that can be unlocked and rented from the in game store. You can equip these with attachments like silencers and acog scopes, and extended mags (the only time you get to aim your weapon is with some kind of scope). Your character can usually carry 2 -3 weapons, which can all be primary or secondary weapons, depending on what you want. It's straightforward old school FPS fun, it can be very enjoyable, and VERY frustrating. Like when somebody keeps killing you from the same camping spot before you can fire off a single shot at them. GOD that pisses me off. When it comes right down to it, this is the games core and it gets most of it right. A few mechanics could be tweaked, but its still quite playable and enjoyable, even if you have a library of retail games.
The special modes are hit and miss, fireteam, which is actually more like two game modes in itself, is a perfect example for this. The goal is to get to a certain place, basically point A to point B, passing some checkpoints on the way, (this is where dead players respawn and extra lives are granted). It's all right, but the thing holding it back is its' difficulty. You face HUNDREDS of enemies, all of which are pretty deadly in the harder modes and almost always drop grenades at there death. You'll face some cheap deaths sometimes. It's annoying. Then there is the wave survival where you fight "infected", Zombie like creatures who have LOADS of health. No, seriously, your in a little house, (in the first map), fighting off these guys and they take a LOT of bullets to kill. Then the exploding zombies come, and the grenade dropping zombies, and the tank like zombies. It's hard. But... Surprisingly, it's kind of refreshing! It's hard to beat! Unlike a lot of wave defense where the enemies are MUCH weaker than you. Hard? Yes, Fun? Most of the time, yet frustrating at others. Then there is the other mode, quarantine. In this mode you start out as a group of humans, than 2 or 3 will mutate into the infected. In this form, you are stronger, faster, and can regenerate your health. When this mode was first released, it was near impossible for humans to kill the infected, but through a series of updates, it has become much easier. The coolest thing about this is being a human, becoming infected, and then turning on your teammates who were previously helping you. The goal is simple, as infected, infect all the humans, as human, either kill the infected, or survive the time limit. It's a BLAST to play, it's a very fun game mode and I absolutely love it.
Well that's the basic rundown of the game there are some more things to it, but you can find those out for yourself! Overall I'd give this game an 80% or around that threshold. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an old school type FPS with a modern twist. You can get it at http://combatarms.nexon.net/ (American) or http://en.combatarms.nexoneu.com/Intro.aspx (UK). Have fun!
Oh, and I can't forget this: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/04/nutshotcombatarms_580.jpg
And yes, it only works on male characters (;
Sometimes the final foe can make or break an otherwise good game. These are some examples of when the final boss definitely is NOT fun to fight. Why developers do this is anyone's guess, but I'm sure we can all agree that these fights SUCK!
This list started off with games that didn't hold up as well as I remember as a kid. Then it was decided that it would be more interesting to examine titles that seemed good when we first played them, but have things about them that ultimately make them flawed products, be it needless censorship, missing game content or something else. Enjoy!
In video games, we've all encountered puzzles that we couldn't wait to get through. But how often do you think back on how little sense some of those frustrating moments make? This list isn't necessarily about the difficulty of these snares, but often how inane they are in the game's universe!
As a followup to my previous list, here we are taking a look at the moments when it is THE PLAYER that has all the advantage, be it through abusable strategies or overpowered moves. For the most part, we are avoiding using unlockable super weapons or abilities and combinations you get from grinding for hours, as making the game much easier is kind of their point. Enjoy!
As always, I'm sure there are powerful weapons in games like Portal or Halo and others I haven't played, so no complaints that your favorites aren't on the list. Can't mention it if I haven't played it!

So I'm THE BIG CHEATER!!!! but what should i cheat, i do have a list for all of you to see me mess with the game but what would you all like to see here is a list, and also i would like you to help me in deciding the TOP 13 BEST CHEATS IN GAMEING!!!!!
Desktop Dungeons is a quick-and-dirty roguelike from Rodain "Nandrew" Joubert. Each game takes about 5 minutes and takes place on a single screen, which encompasses a single dungeon level. Nethack or Crawl it is not -- Not to say that this is a bad thing, or even really a comparable thing: I've played games of Nethack that lasted for hours (Not so much Crawl, that game kicks my ass).
Currently it exists in Alpha form, and is completely free, which is my favourite price point. Sometime in the future a full-featured version is set to be released for sale.
I'll admit, when I first started playing this game I was not particularly impressed. It felt like a dumbed-down roguelike, wherein the only thing that matter was attacking monsters with a slightly higher level than you. I won't say I was entirely wrong - The game IS extremely simplistic compared to its predecessors, but it's in the same way that the gameboy version of Heroes of Might and Magic 2 way simplified: That is, just enough that it's easily playable without devoting a lot of time to it. On the flipside of the coin, there's a lot of content to be unlocked, which gives it a tonne of replay value.
Let's look at the good and the bad.
There are four classes and 5 races to start, later expanded to 12 and 7 respectively, plus there's an extra grid off to the side with 7 more spots which say 'bonus class' or 'bonus character' on mouseover. Add in 3 normal, 4 challenge and 2 campaign dungeons, and you have your work cut out for you.
The game comes with several tilesets, the default is being by Derek Yu, creator of the platformer/roguelike Spelunky (Which I'm sure I'll end up covering at a later date). The resolution is pretty low though, and I have to maximize the window or strain my eyes. Not a big deal, it's not a big-box game where they like to prevent you from resizing the window. Overall, it's not ugly but it's not great-looking either.
Sound consists of a few bites here and there. Hardly even bares mentioning.
It plays like... Well, as I said, a simplified roguelike. You get two types of potions, some shops and some gods, and some hordes of monsters. You have to approach the whole thing strategically: Your HP and MP only replenish when you explore new areas, each god grants you favours in exchange for doing things they like (And will do horrible things if you do things they DON'T like) and the final objective is to kill the Lv. 10 boss monster.
Each class plays just a bit differently, and maybe that's what makes it feel so unbalanced - I stormed the game as a priest, had some difficulty as a thief, barely made it out alive as a warrior and can't play a wizard for the life of me. I don't know if it's just me or if there really is such a huge disparity between characters, but it's a little off-putting.
It seemed at first like there was very little that could happen in the dungeons, but there's an entire wiki about it so I guess more things unlock as you go - I got new items, classes and monsters for the three classes I beat it with, so I have to assume every challenge causes more expansion. Yet I can't help wishing that the dungeon was a bit less claustrophobic, even know that that's antithetical to this game's mission.
As quick-and-dirty games go, it's pretty decent and worth a shot - Especially if you like the idea of roguelikes but can't put aside the time and effort it takes to learn the ins and outs - I justy don't see it winning any awards. And again, you can't beat the price.

This is it. This is the WHOLE WORLD.
Katie out.

I have a serious question for Channel Awesome. In general anyone affiliated can answer, just out of curiosity actually.

I mean I love the guy, video Games Awesome and Awesome Video Games are great! But I mean he is never affiliated with anything, he never mentions Channel Awesome or Blistered Thumbs. He has never appeared or been mentioned on Transmission Awesome. Where did he come from what is his purpose on the site?
...Create your own Phyllis Schlafly speech!
This is the brand new revamped savior guide. The savior guide is an idea I thought of where I will go through a few of the personalities I think should be saved for the rebuild of humanity after zombies annihilate the population. These are a few of the people you need to save. But don't worry I'm not talking about princes or Kings that where just handed their title I'm talking about geeks, nerds, actor and anyone else I view to be awesome and since I just said awesome I say we start with Transmission Awesome the group from Channel Awesome.
Our first up is the original and main host of Transmission Awesome, Chris Larios.
Name: Chris Larios a.k.a. RolloT

...It’s actually hard for me to really believe that I have some friends with such talent. Working to be a voice actor I have met and befriended quite a few interesting and talented people. And not all of them happen to be voice actors, I know quite a few artist with astounding talents. But the most intriguing happens to be a guy I went to school with. He wanted to be an architect for a while and then just a few weeks ago while during a get together with a few of my school chums I learned that he had switched career ambitions to a more artist sort. And this through me for a loop.
I thought he was completely talentless, no offense meant to him by that statement but it’s true. He never showed off a lot of talent during school so when I saw what he made I was astounded beyond words. Now don’t get me wrong was skeptical about the art in itself but then I learned something even more astounding. With a pencil he is shit as an artist but you give him an Xbox 360 Controller and a program that allows for customization and he is Pablo Freakin Picasso!
If you ever see him anywhere be sure to let him know the work he does incredible. Because I have been holding off on saying his name. The guy I’m talking about is named Sean Conrad . Now you have to be asking what program does he use to make this magnificent art? And trust me when I say this, he uses… Forza Motorsport 3.
A car game? That’s right a car game! I have seen designs that astound me by the pure thought he must have put into making these designs. And I’m not just talking about original pieces, no in fact with the design of some of these cars he needs to be getting sponsors for these cars.
...Strategy guides have a history nearly as long as video games themselves. These hint books were often helpful, and sometimes terrible. Here is my list of 5 that stand out, and 5 that DON'T.
That's right folks, it was bound to happen at some point, the first episode in a long line of lets plays. In this episode i try and figure out how to drop things. it is the mightiest of all quests.
