you.”
“And what’s that?”
“Who is this ‘Icarus’ guy this game is named after? Can I meet him?”
“Um…actually, no. But let’s not worry about that.”
“…Why not? What happened to Icarus?”
“Let’s just focus on you right now.”

I may be in the minority here but I for one have always loved point and click adventure games. The feeling you get when you manage to solve all the really difficult puzzles yourself and complete the game, is amazing to me.
Now as I said before, I know a lot of people feel that these games are meaningless and boring, which is true for some point and click games but not all.
This is were I come in, I want to show people that there are good adventure games out there and I start this with a game I just completed called the THE FEEBLE FILES.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Now, I'm not a brilliant reviewer of games and all I can do is give you my honest opinion. I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon and bash it for the sake of bashing it. No I haven't played BF3 but I've played the BF1 demo. Am I a crazy, protective CoD fangirl? No. I am a regular gamer reporting the pros and cons of MW3.

So yeah, I decided to talk about 1992 after all. 1992 is a year you should familiarize yourself with when it comes to gaming. Sure, there were a lot of cool things going on in the console world, but the PC gaming market was especially interesting. I already briefly went over Terminator 2029 and Gun Buster, so let's go over what ELSE came out this year.
Ultima Underworld
...While it is going to be fairly obvious who takes home the gold this year, this was the first year to actually have a lot of FPS titles, many of which are...well, at least passable. Okay, no, there wasn't anything mindblowing this year, but it was still a decent year, all things considered. With that said, let's hop right into it!
Blake Stone - Aliens of Gold
Blake Stone's not a bad game, actually. It's got some fairly interesting concepts to it and it's made by Apogee, who did plenty of oldschool PC action games, including the older Duke Nukem titles. Great game? No, but still pretty fun.
...Episode 5 is up and in this episode I take a look at the second game in the 1940s series.

That's it! I can't find a real job so I look and look and look some more! I've been searching for nearly half a year, again! And yet I can't find a steady job! I have no gas in my car, my girlfriend is all the way on the other side of the country and I can’t afford things I need like shoes let alone things I want. I worked and have been waiting 3 weeks for a check that should have been here a week ago! That's it I'm going Postal 2!
Alright after a week or so I have finally gotten Friday done! And that is the end of Postal 2, so let's get down to business.
P.S. I apologize for the bits of silence during the first mission. I was concentrating and upset. It got better.
To Do:
Get Alternator
Pick Up Package
Uncle Dave's B Day
Go to Clinic
Ok so that was the end of Postal 2, and if I get my way when Postal 3 comes out I'll do it again! but for now I need a new side project, which is what these are to me, a fun side project. So hey here is another video asking what do you want me to play next? So here is the video! Let me know, please! Thanks for watching so far! I love you guys.

George is back in the hot seat again, but this time he's taking on the Gameboy Colour verison.
Do you want to be a millionaire? Then check our site out, it's basically the same thing. http://purplecough.blogspot.com/
Twisted Metal is a game after my own heart! Seriously the game is trying to kill me!
But ever since I was a kid I liked this series, and that is really all because of bad parenting, seriously a 9 year old playing Twisted Metal 2? That would fuck you up! But seriously Twisted Metal won me over as a kid for the twisted view of the world and outrageously intriguing characters. Mr. Grimm being my absolute favorite but since Twisted Metal Black I've had a serious problem with the series. In my opinion and that is all this is I really would have preferred them to keep the less than serious feel of the games where the Grim Reaper drives a motorcycle, a flaming headed clown demon drives an ice cream truck and a man is trapped between 2 wheels that would put any monster truck to shame.
So to go a little further in my thoughts let's cut to me in a car!
I guess you could say I'm being a little childish wanting this game to be like the old ones and hey this could be the best Twisted Metal to date, but I'm still just a little disappointed that Mr. Grimm has to (Still Opinion) suffer for it.
...George takes a look at a pre-FFXIII RPG from Square-Enix. Is it any better?

Rendering the shortest video is taking my computer longer and longer and really it's kind of annoying to wait 2 hours for a 10 minutes video. But sadly my job won't call me so I can't either buy a back up hard drive to clear things out or see if there is a way I can actually fix it. And really if I don't get some cash soon I'm going to go Postal 2! So in honor of Thor's day, let's smite people.
TO DO:
Get Napalm
Get Krotchy
Get Steaks
Pay Ticket
Fun Fact other than Thor's Day is actually the original of the name of Thursday. I actually messed up on editing and forgot the opening to Thursday. It wasn't anything special but it threw off the time frame and sadly it wasn't there. Friday's will be there but I'm an idiot and I'm sorry! So please enjoy Thursday!
Friday comes next week!

Wow it took three tires each worse than the last! So much of my free time playing one day over and over again. And I'm telling you if it doesn't work this time I'm going to go Postal 2.
So let's get down to business, because nothing is personal in paradise.
TO DO:
Vote
Piss on Dad
Pick out a X-mas Tree
Another day another disappointment. If something good doesn't happen soon I'm gonna go Postal!
Well let's see what I have planned for today.
TO DO:
Confess Sins
Get Signatures
Return book
Get Gary's Autograph
God I hope he says that "What you talkin bout?" thing! Well Let's Go.

Hey Beatle#9 here, and I've been wanting to review this game for quite some time. It's called Sniper Elite for the PS2, Wii, CPU, and Xbox (not the 360 :( ). Just so you know this is not a recent game, as it was released in 2005. This is of course a third/first person shooting war game. You might be thinking "Wait 'Sniper Elite' that sounds like you just sit on a building and snipe enemies for a couple of levels, if I wanted that I'd go to AddictingGames.com." Well that's only a small piece of the game, it does have a story, and quite a good one at that, in fact it's based on true events, dead serious.
The story takes place during the closing of WWII, but the USSR and Germany are still in a heated battle for Berlin, if you've heard of the Berlin Wall you may be familiar with this story. You play as an american OSS agent fighting posing as a German soldier, whose mission is to help Germany fend off the USSR, because as we all know COMMUNISM IS BAAAAAAAAD! Your main objective, from what I can gather, is to keep the Russians from acquiring Germany's technology, like their atomic bomb research. And that's pretty much the story you're just doing undercover work. But you do get a lot of variety with the missions which I will explain in the talk of the gameplay.
One thing that's very unique about this game is that when shooting with the sniper rifle you have to take gravity, and wind direction depending on the difficulty, into consideration, which makes this game much more realistic than others like it. This does take some getting used to, but is easier than you might think. Just memorize how high the sight is every time you get a hit whenever a target looks as far as a previous target hit. And if you are doubting that you will get a head shot, aim lower for a better chance to get a hit. Speaking of head shots there are mortal combat-like cinematics showing the path of the bullet right into the target's skull. Complete with blood, brains, and skull fragments exiting the victim's head. This game is very bloody by the way.
...Story- being a Nintendo game it not much in the sense of story. Its just a boy who is chasing his dream to become a pokemon master.
Graphics- It actually has very nice graphics for the Game Boy.
Music- Excellent music, my favorite being the music is the theme of Route 11.
Controls- Very basic, plain and simple.
Gameplay- It's a rock/paper/sizzors RPG. The battle system is not for everyone.
...This marks the beginning of an idea I've had putting around in my head for a little while now: Cessball and I essentially LPing some games multiplayer style. We decided on the title Failing Together because we're both pretty terrible at video games (except for me, I'm totally awesome even when I'm sucking), and in that vein I figured the best and most accurate way to start out is with a game we understand nothing but the basest mechanics of... a Japanese board game.
Super Jinsei Game / Super Game of Life is pretty much a video game version of the board game Life... with a Mario Party-esque blue and red square system years ahead of its time. Also it has a bunch of stats and an assload of jobs you can acquire, but since I don't read any Japanese and Cessball only reads a very small amount, we don't really know anything about it. You can also buy cards with various effects, but once again, don't know what they do since we can't read them.
We're just kind of making stuff up and shooting the shit for commentary, which is a new experience. I like it, personally but I'm not sure how it'll go over with the general viewing population. So far it seems like people like the videos, and we've even had a few people translate some minor events for us, which is neat. I spent YEARS looking for a translation patch for this game, or either of the 2 sequels on the SNES to no avail. I'm fairly certain nobody wants to redo that massive amounts of text for a game pretty much nobody would actually play, so I'm not surprise. Maybe one will appear someday, though.
There are 7 days in a week and at the moment I have no job, no money and no social life past this computer screen. This is really starting to get to me. If I don't do something soon I think like many others I might go Postal 2.
So let's start off this new week with a few errands. Let's see here...
TO DO:
Get Milk
...All aboard the bandwagon! TOOT! TOOT!
As for the bonus, this is one of my earliest videos. Please be gentle.
Video ended up a bit longer than I expected, but that's partly due to me feeling a need to show the 'correct' way to fight the final boss instead of just the pro speed running 'take damage to save time' method I ended up originally doing. This was a good game overall, which is a bit unusual for the stuff I usually do, but sadly the only really challenge was that Pete has a really weird hitbox in his final form. Ah well, there's always next time for difficult.
Ah water levels, how I generally loathe them. This one isn't really that bad compared to most... though I'm still annoyed that they took away the mechanic of the magical suit letting you breathe underwater from the first game in favor of mysterious air bubbles. The ice level is also pretty tame for ice level standards, and the 'building up snowballs under your feet while walking' thing is actually amusing as a mechanic. At first, at least, then it just starts to get in the way.
I think it's also time to come to terms with something: the armor is a bit on the overpowered side. I think that might just be a side effect of it being the only suit that's 100% meant for combat purposes though. Aside from that dude with the cannons in the airship (who is immune to the hammer, from some testing), there's no reason not to drop the hammer on all bosses. Hell, as show here, it tends to make them rather pathetic.
Game's still good, though.
Practically anyone you meet will always mention Nintendo as a great influence in home gaming. When I was a kid, just buying the NES felt like a life changer. Being the first to play Super Mario Brothers gave me no doubt that this system was going to change things. Then came Super NES which made me drool. But then they topped themselves again with Nintendo 64. It really gave new aspects of gameplay. Nintendo then change once again with GameCube. It finally entered the gamedisk era. But then Nintendo totally redid how one played video games when it released its Wii system. So what is going on today?A recent article posted the lackluster sale of its Wii system and also the recently released 3DS and it's not a good sign for them. Though Nintendo is hopeful it will come back with its Wii U, it may be DOA. Why? Well for one there are rumors going around about xbox is going to release its next gen system next year and PS4 might be coming soon after. The price of Wii U is still not yet known but either a huge price will drive people away or they will save it for the next xbox/ps4 system. Either way I think Nintendo needs to redo again how one plays video games. Remember when the iPhone and iPod Touch first came out? They became a video game platform. Many people were able to buy that game app when it became available. It was more affordable and it generated money to those who made it. For me, Nintendo can really take advantage of that. Can you imagine Mario game app?. I think Nintendo said its passed on it but game companies have made themselves know in the game app world. We will see though what move Nintendo makes. Will they be happy if in fact Wii U succeeds or will they have to change their business outlook if it fails?
And the final costume is a magic base one, kinda like the magical costume in the first Magical Quest... though this one is transformative instead of damaging, which makes it suitably unique in comparison. Also gotta say, I'm not a fan of that skyward's climbing bit early on in the Airship level.
Not that I dislike jumping challenges or anything... but I don't like the fact that it ends up trying to make you work with things that aren't even on the screen yet in spots. If you don't already know what's coming, you're probably going to lose a life, and I don't really consider that good game design.
I was sooo excited to play L.A. Noire, I finally got to the end... and dear lord in heaven what a let down. The game play is pretty good for a RockStar game. I like the fact that if you get stuck on a mission you can just skip it or if you don't feel like driving you can have your partner drive, but the thing I looked forward to the most was the investigative parts.
Being the wanna-be Sherlock Holmes I am I love the idea of looking at clues and interrogating people and putting the pieces of the puzzle together. So when I heard about the questioning and crime scene investigation part of L.A. Noire, I squee'd. but then I actually played the game. Granted the mechanics into investigating are better than one's average mystery game but this is no Heavy Rain. The facial signs range between obvious and blank altogether. Often times when you KNOW a person is lying but for whatever reason you forgot to get just the right bit of evidence you can't get 100% of the information from the suspect. This means investigating EVERYTHING. That takes time given how Cole is just so slow at staring at things. There are even times when the evidence is screaming at you and you know the answer but are not given the option to put the puzzle together and Cole NEVER wears gloves and fingerprinting was historically common by 1947 or 48 whichever year they picked. Also, there is a feature to use points to narrow down the options which doesn't help at all. It takes away the one thing you are sure is not the answer but leaves the two you are struggling to decide between. After certain tasks are done you are awarded a new suit that can help you in your investigations and you can get new cars from driving around to certain areas. There is also a landmark achievement where you go around and find famous L.A. landmarks, but you will have to go to most of them anyway for missions so unless you just are dying to go, you don't have to. There are side missions you can pick up on your way to places during an investigation but be careful because sometimes when you stop to help in a bank robbery you will arrive too late at your actual destination and miss clues.
Also as you rise through the ranks you go from street cop, to central, to traffic, to homicide,to vice, to arson. Up until traffic, the crimes and mysteries are engaging and fun. They are varied and you never dwell too long on any given case which gives a good variety. Then you get to homicide. And it hits a stride of suck. You come across dead women who are clearly the victims of a serial killer but the department forces you to choose between two douches who have nothing to do with the case other than VERY loose connections to the victims. And based on the evidence you KNOW it is neither of the two but you have to choose regardless or you cant continue. Then you find out at the end of it all, it wasn't them but even after the case is resolved there is no credit to you in the story.
So ya get moved to vice. And the vice missions are setting up what is going to happen in the final act. It is stupid. There are also newspapers you can pick up that reveal other story elements to you. At first they seem unrelated other than a loose connection to you as oh hey I know that dude. But then it becomes a huge thing. And there is even a newspaper clip that *SPOILER ALERT*...
Reveals that your partner is going to betray you during an investigation with him and there is nothing you can do about it, not even shoot him for a game over or mission fail as in Vice City. And the betrayal itself is pretty weak even by the 1940's standards of values and morality. The ending is weak too and tries to take a sort of classic Noire tragic hero thing at the same time as copying Red Dead redemption and it just doesn't work.
...Blood and violence aren't needed for a good game but they do help make things way more interesting.
Postal 2 is a game about going insane or rather so very sane that you realize killing people is the perfect idea to save the world. Also note that none of this should be taken as advice, or in any way a good idea.
I hope to do more with this game later but for now this is all we get.

The final three parts of Let's Play Rascal. Brace yourselves.

I'm a big fan of games of all kinds, and one of my favourite styles is the good ol' table-top role-playing game. I do so like throwing dice across a table, describing and imagining scenes of glorious, wondrous fantasy. It's a form of beautiful escapism that I don't think any other kind of entertainment quite captures, where you can immerse yourself in the imaginary world of the game at exactly the level you want, so no-one is ever "doing it wrong" and everybody round the table is comfortable and having fun.
However, like many 'cult' hobbies, role-playing has something of a divide in it in terms of style. While everyone is in agreement that there is no wrong way to play these games, you can bet your bottom dollar that everyone has a right way.
The divide, curiously, can be drawn through the name of the genre: Role-Playing Game. Specifically, the line separates the last word from the rest of it - creating the "Role-Players" and the "Gamers". You can see this in practice when people talk about themselves in the hobby; many will tell you that they are a role-player, while just as many will brand themselves a gamer. This is really just harmless, but it speaks of the range of subjective methods to something that they are all doing.
I'll note here that while I speak of two groups of people, they are by no means extremes to which everyone in this hobby subscribes. The issue is of course much greyer than that, so see them as the two parts of a player's perception of the hobby, with one having maybe a bit more precedence than the other in individuals.
First, I shall speak of the gamers. I identify more as a gamer, so this is where my train of thought starts. RPGs started as a bizarre twist on wargames (something which is unquestionably a gamer thing), so were more about the rules with the concept of deeper personal narrative being this whole new unexplored thing. Everything that happened was based on equations of numbers and dice, with the referee having the final say. The rules dictated what went on, so it was very much a game like its boardgame and wargame cousins. Other than a bigger and more complex manual (and of course a totally different premise), there was little to differentiate D&D from Monopoly in terms of what market they occupied.

Well, here is something completely different that I normally don’t do: a review of something!
I’ve recently completed the latest game from American McGee, Alice: Madness Returns and I do have some things to say about it that I find a lot of reviews are not talking about. Now I know I’m not a professional at this so if my opinions make you sad or angry, just remember that these are just MY opinions and you can judge the game for yourself.
*WARNING*: HERE BE SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW! MAJOR PLOT POINTS WILL BE REVEALED FOR BOTH GAMES! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Let’s start off proper and get the back story of the first game.
In the first game, it starts off with the young Alice and her family sleeping in their beds when the family cat Dinah accidentally knocks over a lamp that starts a fire. Alice escapes the house burned but alive however her family dies the fire. This tragedy causes Alice to lose her mind and is committed to Rutledge Asylum. After 10 years of being catatonic, she receives a call from the White rabbit and is once again sent down the rabbit hole. While there she learns of the Queen of hearts tyranny. (Who is also called the Red Queen although this is a common mistake when dealing with the Alice in Wonderland stories as the Red Queen is the chest piece character in the second book.) She meets up with the Cheshire cat now looking mangy and severely wicked, who takes it upon himself to act as her guide in Wonderland. Throughout the game we continue to learn of the Queens cruel grip upon the land out as well as find out that some of Alice’s dearest friends have changed their way and have become more darker, sinister characters. After many hardships and tragedies that she goes through she eventually confronts the Queen within her lair. She eventually defeats the Queen, reclaims her sanity, and is released from the asylum.
