In this installment we make it all the way to the top of the hotel, and we deal with one of the trickier minibosses in the game!

Hmm, I don't know. Iwazaru does sound concerned with all the talk about it being dark and no going back, but then says that the threat is at peacetime levels... Maybe it's just excitement about what you'll see! :D

Sorry, just really find it silly when Defcon 5 (peacetime) is used when Defcon 1 (state of war, nuclear weapons allowed) is meant. ^_^'

All in all, interesting instalment. We get a little closer to learning something, even if Mills got just as cryptic as the other ghosts in death. I do wonder if we ever get a deeper explanation of how things fit together, or if it will just be an explanation for what is behind it all. Nevertheless, awaiting the next one. ^_^

PS: I just noticed that the thick blood is counted in decilitres. That would mean that the Smiths carry a 100 litre (~26.4 US gallons) container around somewhere. Apparently, Kaede is not just able to walk barefoot on anything, but also of hiding a person-sized jug of blood in a mini dress. Guess I should expect no less from professional assassins. XP

We will get an explanation for how the whole political thing ties together.

Also, god damn; I didn't notice the measurements, but wow, the Smiths really are utilizing buckets of blood. That is freaking nuts.

And so, we reach the amazing conclusion! The final battle between the fighters for Justice, the Handsome Men, and the depraved murderers, the Smith Syndicate! And it's... a mindfuck of an ending as Pink turns out to be... what, someone new with prophetic powers who leave after Garcian and she shake hands and are best friends? Con can see their poses (or maybe he just hears the movement of the air?) Mask upgrades into Omega Mask, the handsome men move and shoot exactly where we aim (if we hit they hit), and then it was an online game the whole time even though there is no longer any internet, and Dan is Disco Dan in the credits and Kun Lan and.

    WELP THAT WAS WEIRD.

The new mission is an oh so intriguing one. Samantha is dead, Harman and Kun Lan discusses the sad fate of someone OH SO UNRELATED to them who killed his own mother when she tried to seduce him and proceed to freak out when they notice Garcian eavesdropping (also worth noting- their chess pieces scatter everywhere when they notice Garcian), and then Garcian tells Mills that the master is gone and Mills gets killed after he's about to reveal something that happened thirty years ago? how mysteeerious. I do wonder what Mills was going to say, and how much he really knows about the Killer 7...

I also wonder whats the deal with Matsuoka, and how he's going to organize those ten million japanese into an actual threat come voting time even if they DO cast their votes in a swing state. Darn you Mills, we gave you a Hollywood-death and yet you explain nothing!

Also fun fact- the portier which dissapears is supposedly Sumio Mondo, protagonist of Sun, Flower and Moon, another one of Sudas games. As for why he disappears like that... I do not know. As for why Iwazaru is so hesitant for us to go any further (or is he really?), that I do know. As well as why we find Soul Bullets in those very peculiar places...

Talking bout gameplay though, I wonder if the rockets are weak points, or maybe those strapped TO the rockets? I also wonder if double tap might not be a bad thing to have sometimes, when you miss the weak spot and then accidentaly fire another bullet, it just may eliminate the limb sporting the weak point entirely. Also- does upgrading criticals really change anything? Like, does it improve the odds of a critical hitting home, as if they're worked out with a RNG instead of just "aim at yellow spot and pull trigger"? So much strangeness, so many answers waiting to be revealed...

I'd heard that the hotel guy was from Flower, Sun, and Rain, but that connection went over my head because I've never played it. :-D

It really is cool the way they play up Iwazaru and the bullets' locations this time around. It makes you wonder if their locations in earlier levels were significant as well. The very first one was in the trunk of a car Travis is sitting on, for example.

Upgrading criticals I think eventually gives you Critical Lock-On, and that ability is absolutely crucial for Killer8 mode, when you can't see the critical points.
