Goku vs Superman - THE DEATHBATTLE THREAD & Don’s Opinion

Let’s get this discussion started up early so when we do eventually get to see the real Goku Vs Superman DEATHBATTLE we can see who had the best call on the victor

Just another average joe who started a podcast featuring a variety of interesting charcters.....we love all animation in general but we have a particular interest for Japanese animation because it's so varied.



We certainly are not the know-it-all otaku bunch many others appear to be but hey we are honest and aren't really trying to impress anybody....just callin it how we see it.



Anyhow, we'd like for anyone interested in our cause to join our group...which will help bring newcomers into anime and help the industry...that's why we are based on a movie review website and not a dedicated anime or manga one....we are tryin to get new blood!.....check us out people..we have crac...err i mean cake

    I hope Goku will win because he is my favorite of the two. I'm pretty sure he will win for two reasons. 1, Supermans powers are solar based while Goku draws from is own almost godlike power. 2, Goku's powers could be considered magic based which Superman has no resistance to.

    Usually, this comes down to a popularity contest, which usually Superman wins (and his fans take any suggestion to the contrary as a personal insult, as though it's a question of the better hero and not the quantity the writer jotted down on a whim).

    Personally, I don't see how the logical choice could ever not be Goku, because DBZ overpowered its characters to the point of downright poor writing. Based on how much their power and speed increased in proportion with the power levels, and how insanely off-the-charts the power levels grew, they would have been multiple times faster than the speed of light and strong enough to destroy solar systems without trying before the series was done. (Once in a blue moon later on, the writers slapped down an utterly lazy attempt at a measurement to convince us the powers were still calculable, and then went right back to the same-off-the-charts feats.)

    Pre crisis Superman was overpowered as well, but the writers eventually realized this and scaled him down, while the DBZ comics just kept using the gimmick of "wait, what if someone else came along who was ALREADY that strong before them!" They gave up on feats after getting to guys who could destroy planets and just had the new villains be strong enough to make the old ones look like nothing... which was about 1/20 of the way through the series. After that, the same thing happened again. Then it happened again. And again. And again. And...

    If they'd stopped at Cell or even Frieza saga, the exact same debates would be going on, and they'd be exactly the same as they are now.
