Da Pro: Lousy Villains We Adore 10: Oogie Boogie
Hello, friends. I am Da Pro and this is my blog. I like to call it...
LOUSY VILLAINS WE ADORE.
Huh? Oh yeah, I let Pharmmajor type this the other time. I'm so sorry, I'll correct it right away.
LOUZY VILLINS WEE ADORE.
That more like it, huh, guys?!
He is a bag of bugs who's addicted to gambling and, in a town populated by ghosts, vampires, witches, and monsters of all kinds, he is the only evil character per se.
*drumroll*
Say hello to... Oogie Boogie!

Boo! HAHAHA!
From the classic that is The Nightmare Before Christmas, come a lot of wonderful characters. But Oogie stands out as downright twisted, evil, and hella funny. He's also got three kids working for him, but I hate them with a passion, so I won't talk about them.
Next, a short summary of the movie's story. It spoils and stuff, but if you never watched it, you deserve being spoiled. In the bad way.
Pumpkin King Jack from Halloween Town discovers Christmas Town and is fascinated. Oogie Boogie kidnaps Santa Claus because he wants to eat him.

Hmm, double cooked, sweet and sour, or Kung Pao? Anyway it is cooked, this is going to be taste-ey!
What? I said it would be short. Anyway, this guy kidnapped friggin' Santa Claus! To eat him! That would automatically make him one of the awesomest villains ever, but for Burton, it was not enough. He had to make him a compulsive gambler and cheater. He had to make this villain something like we've never seen before. He had to make him an outcast from Halloween town (yes, he was so evil he was banished from a town of monsters!) who is downright sadistic and lives in a lair that's filled with torture devices shaped like roulette wheels and slot machines and other casinoey stuff, and oh my!, he had to make him sing an awesome song complete with awesome evil laughter.
I love your voice, Ken Page.
Anyway, Boogie is ultimately defeated when Jack pulls a loose thread from him, and Santa steps on the so-called "Brain Bug". Eww.
You know, guys, I noticed the last villains I've been talking about are slowly getting less and less lousy. So get ready for a surprise: next time, we'll have a very, very lousy villain around.
More villins here!

Yes. I first watched this movie with a friend of mine, the kind of friend that watches lots of scary movies and stuff, and she later told me that was one scene scared and disgusted the hell out of her.
She justified the fact by saying she had Insectophobia.
A little shorter than usual, but a very nice tribute to a thoroughly creepy villain. Thank you for not including a video of his "death" scene, though - that's some nightmare fuel I can do without.
