Da Pro: Lousy Villains We Adore 8: Pete
OH HAI GAIZ!!!
I'm here today/tonight/whatever to tell you a little bit about another...
LOUZY VILLIN WEE ADORE
Percy P. Percival. Rings a bell? Probably not. Let me tell you a bit about Percy, then. He was once a bear, but now he's some kind of cat, or so his creators say. I'd say he looks more like a dog.
Okay, let's drop the mystery. I mean, you did read the blog title. Say hello to PETE!

Pete, believe it or not, good old Pete is 85 years old. A few years older than his old rival Mickey Mouse. He made his debut in a film called Alice Solves The Puzzle. No, I don't know much about it either.

Well, I don't know about you, but I found this really surprising. So surprising, I will start mentioning it randomly. BUT PETE'S 85 YEARS OLD! Also, he had a wooden leg.
Later he would appear in Steamboat Willie, not as a bear, but as a cat. A big, bulky, grumpy cat with more brawn than brains.

The character grew to become the Pete we all know and love. Money-grabbin', grudge-keepin', boasty and mean Pete. He eventually became United States Merchant Marine's mascot during WW2.

Later, Pete became more than just Pete. Whenever there was need for a bad guy, they'd make a Something-Pete. Genghis Pete. Blackbeard Pete. Pete the Hun. The list goes on and on. Pete (WHO IS 85 BY THE WAY!!!) is voiced by my favorite American voice actor, Jim Cummings.

I COMMAND YOU TO WORSHIP JIM.
Pete would also appear in Goof Troop, having settled down and married. He got a job, and is not a villain anymore; only a bit of a crook, meanie, and bully. Ish.

Later, in House of Mouse, he was the landlord who would do anything to end the show. Long story.
He also appeared in Kingdom Hearts 2. He was "too stupid to tie his own shoes".

Oh Percy. You had your silly moments and your seriously creepy ones (Disney's Christmas Carol, this video, minute 7 or so forward. That if you have never watched it, which I doubt), but in the end, you are, and always be one of my favorite Lousy Villains I Adore.
ALSO, PETE'S 85 YEARS OLD! AND I HAVE MORE VILLAIN BLOGS HERE!
