Well, it's been about a week since I posted the blog for this topic, requesting people's top ten favorite movie lists. Well, the week, and the wait, are both over.

After getting well over 300 movies, I finally narrowed down the top 10. Please note that I did not pick these 10 movies based solely on my personal preferences, it was based on how many times the movie showed up in people's lists, so please no angry letters or anything as it is not my fault.

For those of you who participated (which includes "ThatGuyWithTheGlasses" Doug himself) thank you very much for making this possible. So, without further ado, here are the top 10 movies submitted by you:

10. The Fifth Element

In a battle for the safety of the world, our fate lies in the hands of Bruce Willis

9. The Princess Bride

"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die" (Five minutes later) "Okay, now what?"

8. Forrest Gump

This movie is like a box of chocolates. It tastes differently to everyone who eats it, but it's still just chocolate.

7. Dawn of the Dead

Zombie invasion? Somebody break out a shotgun please.

6. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

One ring to rule the Academy Awards that year.

5. Blade Runner

This movie certified for Humans and Replicants alike.

4. Princess Mononoke

Get your Asian on, anime movies proven good for many.

3. The Matrix

There is no movie.

Now for the final two, I have to say it was amazingly close.

Seriously, they both showed up on 7 people's lists, and the rankings were extremely close as well. In the end, the difference was literally between 7th and 5th on somebody's list.

2. Fight Club

1. Serenity

"Define 'Interesting'" "Oh god, oh god, we're all gonna die?"

That's right folks, while Fight Club is indeed a much more famous movie, the cult classic Serenity managed to pull ahead. To be quite honest, I agree with it. I think Serenity is an excellent movie that everyone should watch, as it is one of the only sci-fi movies out there with an incredible and interesting plot (Unlike some very recent Star Wars movies).

Anyway, there they are, all of them are excellent, and that's why they triumphed. But what about all the other movies I got? Don't fret, below this is a list of all the honorable mentions. Thanks for participating guys, and don't think that I'm stopping here. I'm coming up with more list ideas that I want to implement, the first of which will start on Wednesday, so stay tuned. BTW: the numbers next to the movie indicate how many times it showed up on people's lists. If you are curious, Serenity and Fight Club showed up 7 times, Matrix and Mononoke showed up 6, LOTR 3 and Blade Runner showed up 5, and the other 4 showed up 4 times each. The only determiners at that point was the rankings per list.
