Hi, it's Andrew D. again, bringing you the best of fan-submitted top 10 lists (and probably the only one doing it).
This week, I would like to tap into a crazy phenomena that is sweeping the world, the amazing power of ANIME!
For those who aren't familiar (by which I mean none of you), Anime refers to any cartoon or animated series that has been imported from Japan. Right now, it has become extremely popular in both Japan (obviously) and America, and probably in other parts of the world as well.
Now then, I'm pretty sure everybody who has participated in my last weekly top 10 lists (and as a side note, I do plan on doing these every week) knows how this works, but just in case you are new here the format is simple. Just post a comment on this page with your personal top 10 favorite anime series, and at the end of the wee (In this case, by next Saturday) I will tally the results and repost them in a new topic. Also, even if your series didn't make it to the top 10, don't worry because I post all the other series underneath as "honorable mentions" so everybody's favorites are mentioned.
Finally, and just like always, the results from this site are compared with many other sites, so the more the better.
Well, what're still reading this for? Show me your stuff.

I've watched Bleach since it started in Japan, well before it came to Cartoon Network. Every Wednesday my friends and I host an anime night, and Bleach has been a constant staple. Time and again it's managed to suck us back in with cool ideas and then disappoint. We only watch it simply because, like Mt. Everest, it's there. We're determined to make it to the end out of spite.
Personally, I can't wait to see what these same people say when they get to the whole Bontou subplot.
9. Those Who Hunt Elves
8. Gantz
7. GetBackers
6. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
5. Saiyuki
4. Golden Boy
3. FLCL
2. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (VERY close second)
1. Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi/Excel Saga (tie)
If you didn't notice, I favor comedy and action above all else. On that note, runners-up are:
- Welcome to the NHK
- Air Gear
- Spirited Away
- Monster (only because I didn't finish it yet)
- Paprika
2.Dragon Ball Z
3.Neon Genesis Evangelion
4.Dragon Ball GT
5.Full Metal Alchemist
6.Dragon Ball
7.Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi
8.Howl's Moving Castle
9.Nube
10.Pokèmon
Interesting.
~This series is hilarious. Basically a play off of Japanese men's fascination with girls' panties. 5-10 minute episodes about guys trying to get a peek...just a peek, but they make it so over the top epic that it's awesome.
9) Twilight of The Cockroaches (Atleast I think that's the title)
~One of the first anime movies to be played on Cartoon Network in its infant days as a tv channel. Basically the life of a colony of roaches in this guy's home. Roaches are anime, but the human and his home are real-life. Awesome.
Sailor Moon ~Yeah, I'd be lying if I told you I NEVER watched that girly show. Like the NC said, They were hot. Another series that started out with horrible dubbing that made it look stupid, but the Toonami version was far superior with better voice acting and original music.
7) Iron Scroll (Movie)
~Not much to be said here.
6) Tenchi Muyo
5) Perfect Blue
~I love Psychological Thrillers and this is one of the best. Great movie.
4) Paronia Agent
3) Fullmetal Alchemist
2) Cowboy Bebop
1) Dragonball/Dragonball Z
~Okay I'm going to explain why for this. Dragonball was the first anime I saw as a child. I use to wake at 6:00 am on Saturdays to watch this show. As a child I didn't know it was heavily censored but who cared! As I grew older I began to hear about DBZ, but since I had no way to use the internet back then I knew next to nothing about it. Then DBZ is dubbed and aired on the WB at the time they originally aired DB. I was officially an anime fan on that day. All high-paced action sequences with "Rock the Dragon" blaring in the background was enough to hook any male teenager. Pokemon is known as the show that brought anime into the media's attention, but DBZ is what brought that wildly sought after 15-35 male demographic. You ask an anime fan what anime show they first saw and chances are they'll say Dragonball Z. It has to be number 1.
The top 10 anime series, chosen by YOU!

9. Gundam Wing
8. One Piece
7. Sailor Moon
6. Princess Mononoke
5. Magic Knight Rayearth
4. Death Note
3. Neon Genesis Evangelion
2. Cowboy Bebop
1. Naruto
I have alot more favorites that didn't make to the list but this is all I could put in and yes, I've noticed that placing Naruto on the number one spot is a little bias but it's just that I dig the characters which is the main reason why I like the show. But hope it helps.
