Hello, it's Shining Aquas again for yet another Top 10 fan submission list.

As I mentioned last wee, all top 10 lists would be done on the forums from now on, so send all your top 10 list submissions to the forum web page.

For this top 10 list, I decided to try something a little different.

Most of the topics I have chosen allow for an extremely wide range of possible answers, which usually led to enormous amounts of variety. This week, I've decided to choose a topic that doesn't really allow for too much variety since there are only so many fighting game series out there that can show up. For the most part, this list will be a bit more "experimental" than the last 4. If this format doesn't work out so well, I'll go back to only doing super wide open topics, but I would like it to succeed since I can frequently alternate between specific and broad spectrum.

Now then, this topic is for the Top 10 Greatest Fighting Game Series ever, whether it be past or present. Rules are the same as always, give me your personal 10 favorite fighting game series (or less, if needed since this list makes 10 way too many in most cases). I will accept anything from console, computer, or arcade exclusive, and time period matters not.

Secondly, I feel the need to define a fighting game, since I just know that someone out there is going to try and vote for something like Dynasty Warriors: A fighting game is one with multiple characters that all have special and unique abilities, usually tend to be 2D, normally only 2 players but can be up to 4, and usually involves each character having a life bar. American and foreign titles are all good, so I'll take anything, but it needs to be a fighting game. If I look it up and determine it to be something else, like an action adventure or action RPG, even some fighting RPG's, I might exclude them. I will let you know if that happens.
