I gotta love the fact you dragged out the Last Unicorn, which was one of those crazy cult things that you just wouldn't you know about it. I actually am not so bothered about the length, though it did drag a little in the mid-part, but I think parts of it were a bit rough. It kind of feels like you were sort of finding an equilibrium at the beginning, and as a result things felt a little forced. I have to admit, at first I kind of dismissed it as sort of a 'Channeling Nostalgia critic' but you managed to turn it around a little bit. With that said, and I don't mean to be offensive, I wonder if maybe the sort of loud, rant/rave Critic-inspired tirades are as good a fit for you. I loved the writing at the end of the rant but something about it felt kind of... I dunno, off to me? (Admittedly, I'm raising the bar a little high), so either finding your own voice in the whole thing, or at the very least learning to have a little fun with it (seemed a little restrained) might be a good idea.

I'm not trying to make you sound like a failure though. I died laughing at the April o' Neal reference, and your analysis of the movie was bloody spot on. It was pretty heavy for kid's stuff.

I really liked it. It was pretty funny but there was one thing that kind of bothered me. At times it sounded like you were trying to tone down the anger while still trying to sound angry... Maybe it's just me, I don't know.
But bottom line, it was bloody good. Good luck with the contest.

I think showing anger isn't your strong point and needs some work to make it feel more genuine and less forced. And your right, 17 minutes is slightly too long for me to watch a vid about a film ive never seen.

That's the criticism out the way I personally rate this the best from the entries ive seen, really well done. I think you're definitly a strong contender. If i get the opportunity to vote then i think you safely have it.

In the words of Lou Grant, "You've Got Spunk" (Unlike him, I actually like spunk). However, there are a few things I question about this performance. First of all in terms of reviews in general, you gotta fire off the cannon, so to speak, and swear a lot more. If NC can drop several F-Bombs in 10-15 minutes, so can you (Don't be shy, just let loose a little bit). Second in regards to just this review, you failed to make any (Major) jokes about what is possibly one of the most painful musical numbers ever seen/heard/recorded...Of course I speak about Mia Farrow singing "Now that I'm A Woman".

I mean, yeah you showed a clip of it, but for god's sake you could've done more with it. Throw in a Woody Allen reference, show footage of the nazi's head's melting from "Raiders...", various clips of people saying "MAKE IT STOP!", Anything! It is that horrible. So much that (rumor has it) when the film was recently Re-Released on DVD, they actually got someone else that ISN'T Mia Farrow to dub over her singing parts. It is THAT horrible.

I'll give you props for all the Red Bull jokes, those were genius.

This review was entertaining whether you have seen the movie or not. Your delivery was not at all fake but unique. Great editing also. It shows that you are clever and your amazing gift for writing, expressing humor, attention to detail. Your style is diverse and appeals to a range of audiences with dignity and spunk and not too offensive language....Thank you! You're the Best!
