We are now moving on to the next title in my op 25 Greatest Games Of All Time List, where we talk about #24
Sonic Adventure 2 for The DreamCast or its re-release on Gamecube
The first 3 Sonic games for Genesis were classics and everyone loved them, but Sonic's history after that was like a bad rollercoaster, shaky, and with more downs than ups. However the first two 'Adventure' games were one of the ups. I think it's this one that really stands up. The plot starts out with Dr. Eggman awakening Shadow the Hegdgehog, a new character with a mysterious past bent on evil deeds. I haven't played the story mode in a while so I can't give you the full plot but it's your basic "Robotnik trying to take over the world, Sonic tries to save the day, someone throw Tails off a cliff etc.
SHADOW
What is different about this however is that this game allows you to play in the story from the Hero's point of view, or the villians. By completing both we get to play the final, difficult levels to see the real ending. Which is cool because I liked getting to see what the villians were doing while Sonic was trying to stop them. There are some new characters, including Shadow of coarse, a treasure hunting bat named Rouge, and others. Now let's get to the gameplay. When you first start the game you instantly get in on some fast action surfing down San Fransisco streets, and after that the level is still filled with high speed action and bashing robots, with another high speed chase near the end. All in the first level. Thi game definately delivered speed in the Sonic levles which is always what we fans want in Sonic games ofcoarse. But there are other levels. You get to play as Tails/Eggman in a shoot em up level with a robotic suit, these levels can be fun sometimes but they can tend to drag, and Tails saying the most stupid things during the level doesn't help. The third is a treasure hunting level featuring Knuckles/Rouge, again these levels can be fun but some of the places you have to find them can set off people who anger easily. I guess the creators decided to put these levels in to try and reach out to gamers who prefer other sorts of gamepley or just prove that Tails and Knuckles can do a good job on their own. Though I prefer Sonic's gameplay overall the other levels can still be equally creative and fun. The bosses in this game are awesome, some are easy and some will have you on the edge of your seat but it is the bosses in the Final mode that really pack the punch. The music is catchy and includes the best Sonic song hat includes lyrics "Live and Learn" Each level is creative and unique with a wide variety of enemies to destroy, from Robots, to those ghosts that try to get it on with Sonic.

There are also hidden upgrades that allow you to do things that will benefit your gameplay, like the ability to lock on to more targets, or speed through a long line of rings. You even get to play as SuperSonic for the final bossbattle! And there are even pets called Chao which you can tinker with in your free time. These aren't Nintendog like pets that you pamper, these are cool pets, which can get animal body parts, strengths, and you can determine whether they're dark, or heroes. You can even buy stuff like eggs or toys for them from a cool shop.
Now lets get to the few negative things in this game. First off Omochao, why God is there Omochao. He isn't needed, he claims to help us but merely gives us advice we already knew, but no! He insists on following us around and talking in that annoying voice. Oh well atleast you can grab him and after listening to him beg for mercy, throw him off a high area. I don't care how many times you're gonna tell your Mommy on me kid, you're history.
As always Tails never fails to annoy, with his slow brain and ability to speak the obvious "Sonic needs my help" Sonic is my friend so I should help him!" " I should find the president" I bet if he kept a diary or to-do list it'd be full in two days.
Grocery List
Eggs- I should get these, they are very good fried, I'll need to break the shell.
Milk-It's very good for your bones, I should drink a couple of glasses each day!
and so on and so forth........
Other than that plus some monor faults in the plot I think this was a great gam and the last Fantastic Sonic game. So of you're a Sonic fan or just a game fan in general, you definately need to get this on the gamevube, it'a a wonderful gaming experience which is why it is #24 on My Top 25 Games of All Time list
Thank You
. Speed just doesn't seem to transfer well to 3D (except for driving games) But hearing you say that you are a Sonic fan I’m guessing the 2D games will be on the list too. Which is good, because I definitely think they belong in there. Besides, like Ghostmayhem said, you said that this is YOUR top greatest not THE top greatest, and that is an important distinction.
Also I don't know who thumbs downed the people above me but I think they were good comments...oh well.
MY Top 25 Greatest Games of All Time # 24

Why is SA2 ONLY number 24 ?
Not only was it definitely the best Sonic game since Sonic 2, but it's also one of the best of last-gen.
Oh well, it's your list (and this is my opinion, not yours) and I respect that.
Continue with the list!
