We are back again and are moving on to #20 in My top 25 greatest games of all time.
MARIO PARTY (series)
I decided to just use the whole series instead of selecting just one out of 8. There were just too many things that would have made it difficult to select one. Anyway, before the Mario Party, the Mario series hadn't really offered many multiplayer options to people other than Mario Kart. And by making these games, I'm glad they decided to extend it. The main gameplay is pretty simple. Four people use Mario character, to travel through a large gameboard trying to collect as many stars or coins as possible. You can get both by visiting shops, landing on certain board spaces or, (my favorite) competing in a wide range of mini games. Yes, Mario Party is a huge multiplayer game where you and your friends compete in mario mini games. And with 8 different MP games, they've managed to keep just about every 'mini' unique. And some of these games will have you and your friends trying as hard as they can to defeat each other. It's a real awesome game to play when you got a few people over and it's a Mario game. It's got those moments that range from victory screeches, to that one person getting yelled at after doing some unfair. I also like how the different gameboards tend to bring a different, unique gameplay to your game. Young or old (atleast old enough to understand games) this is always huge fun at parties, which is what I think Nintendo was trying to accomplish by making this. (It is Mario Party) I think the only real bad thing is that a couple of the mini games can tend to be dull but that's really it. But ofcoarse there's always going to be that one player who gets the worst of luck.
I highly reccomend buying atleast one of these games. They have a couple for the N64, GameCube, and Wii. So it shouldn't be hard to get one. Here's hoping they add wi-fi gameplay to MP 9. Although I would suggest getting the first 3 if you want to play as DK or Bowser because after that they become pieces of the gameboard who either bring you luck or misfortune. (guess which one's which) All in all, the Mario Party games are great great multiplayer fun and they star our favorite Mario characters, which is why I place it at #20 in MY top 25 greatest games of all time,
Thank You
