Hello and thanks in advanced for reading my review of Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay starring Kal Penn, John Cho and Rob Corddry.
For the record, I haven't seen Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. I heard one review that hated this movie and said it's because they relied to much on reusing jokes from the first one, if that is the case then forgive me for not knowing that. I know the basic plot of the first one......they go to White Castle, and their names are Harold & Kumar. So maybe that's why I wasn't following the plot of this movie at all.
Ah the second paragraph....the paragraph tha tells you, the reader, the overall plot of the movie. It lines us up for the second picture in my review and the next two paragraphs that give you the basic idea of the reasons I did or did not like the movie. That in turn leads up to the third and final picture that goes to any more final thoughts I had on the movie, a quick sum up, and a score that is a percentage of a number that's out of a hundred. Alas my good friends, as this movie is so off the wall and is just watching two guys go from one crazy situation to the next, it only really mentions the plot every twenty minute but I wasn't paying attention to those parts that much. So my fair, loyal reader, I think it's been quite obvious that I've just been stalling so that I filled up my second paragraph.
So what I said above is the basic idea of this movie. Just two guys going through one shennanigan after the other. Along with some clips of a hilarious police cop that uses steretypes to interrigate people. Like this one scene where he poors grape juice in front of black people to get them to talk. So this movie is mostly about stereotypes and how the world views different people. I don't think it ever reached a moral on how it's bad to think of people that way as the stereotype became true in the movie eventually. I also got a bit surprised by how 'Escape from Guantanamo Bay' is only about ten minutes of the entire film. So just want to let you guys know that the title is a bit misleading. Unless in the first one the White Castle part was only at the very end and it was just because they past it on the way home or something.
The two actors were hilarious, I can now forgive Kal Penn for his role in Epic Movie and John Cho was just brilliant as he reminds me a lot of me and how I would've acted in thise situations. And together, they are a match made in heaven. This also goes for the other roles in the movie, the police cop (Rob Corddry) was also great as well as Neil Patrick Harris who my friend who I saw the movie with was very happy to see in this movie. The movie is also a bit of a stoner flick as there are a lot of weed, bongs and other such horrible things that I do not condone at all.....![]()

So the scenes were all funny and I do really want to see the first one. Again, it doesn't matter if you haven't seen the first one or not I'm sure you will also find it good unless you're against racist humour or whatever. And the movie does have a lot of crude parts that make you want to throw up. But overall the movie was very good, got a lot of laughs out of me and I am definately lining up if they make a third one.
I give Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay: 82%
Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay Movie Review

I'm rather against racist humor, but in this case, the movie have crossed the border.
-First of all, the title like you said, yes it's misleading to rest of the movie, but more than that, I don't think people should use the name "Guantanamo Bay" too easily. For God's sake, it's possibly a living hell on Earth. To what the movie tells us is that Guantanamo is a large prison where you have to do blowjobs as food.
...
Then there's that scene, and in the next, Harold and Kumar escapes from that prison in a matter of minutes. I mean.. Wtf? THIS DOESN'T REFLECT ON THE REALITY AT ALL.
Overall, the movie was stupid in the sense of attempting humor and offensive at the same time. I'm sorry if other people have a different opinion about this movie, but this is mine.
