Age gets the best of us, Dr. Jones (KOTCS Review)

First off, let me say I love "Raiders of the Lost Ark." That movie is a classic, and always will be. That goes without saying, I wasn't really excited to see this movie, but I was definitely interested.
Set in 1957, the story revolves around a Mysterious Crystal Skull TM that several Russian Communist troops are determined to obtain, and use it to, you guessed it, take over the world. Along the way of trying to stop the communists and obtain the Mysterious Crystal Skull TM, he comes across a young boy in search of his mother, who was lost looking for the Mysterious Crystal Skull TM, named Mutt Williams. Hum, dog's first name, person's last name, could he be... no! If I try to explain the plot further, it will sound like I'm on something, but I will say it has something to do with spacemen.
When it comes to the casting of this movie, it was what you would expect, Shia LaBeouf as the young man hoping to pick up Indy's mantle, because he's popular with the kids. Cate Blanchett as the villain, because she works for that role. And of course, Harrison Ford as Henry Jones, Jr. because no one else can pull him off. All I can say is, this movie was cast how you would expect it, with good actors who fit in their roles.
The story is just fine in the beginning, but soon takes a turn for the ludicrous. The Mysterious Crystal Skull TM could have been a little more mysterious, the alien aspect could have been downplayed, and the villainous henchmen could have seemed more threatening. None of this takes away from the movie too much, but it makes it feel less like Indiana Jones and more like "Close Encounters." One thing I'm happy about it is that they did not shy away from the graphic and unique villain deaths the series is known for.
In short, it's hard to say what it was about this movie that just didn't quite click with me. If you are a diehard fan of Indiana Jones, this movie will undoubtedly disappoint you. However, to the casual fan and average movie goer, it's definetly worth a try.
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" gets a strong three Godzillas.

I really liked the use of "TM", and I do agree that the actors were alright for their parts.
However, I'm a Pretty diehard fan of Indiana Jones films, but I Loved this one.
Sure, it wasn't exactly the Best, but look what you're comparing it to!!
The same goes for The third "Episode" of Star Wars. Sure, the first two sucked, but the 3rd was great! You just have to think of it as it's own movie instead of comparing it to the greatness that was it's prequels (or...whatever...you get the point...)
