Another week, another article. Just to reiterate everything I am about to say is 100% true and the names have been changed.
Crazy Customers
Took long enough right? Yea I am amazed I didn't have any sooner either. The first one was a comeback of the Guitar Hero girl, and she brought her friends in....to kick our asses again. Yup not that she kicked our asses was enough, but to show her friends that she did kick our ass. However the next thing out of her month was if we were hiring. The answer to that at any place like this is "we're taking applications" meaning that if morons are fired or if people realize it is a shitty job we will let you know when to come in and take their place. So we gave her an application, however she told us her age, 14. Yea it ain't happening for a couple of years.
However that was nothing compared to Bertha...
First time I saw her she was walking with her friends in our store front and about 1/4 of the way pass she goes into a crazed fan mode, "OMG THEY SELL PSX GAMES!!!!!!" I was at the front of the store and saw both of her friends were literally pushing her away from the display of the PSX games. The store looked out and called her a weirdo, however anyone working the store knows what was coming.
30 minutes later she came in with her friends. I knew this because I heard a high pitch "eek" upon her revival. She found her Moby Dick, Final Fantasy VIII. She needed the game to "complete her collection" with final fantasy games. Wow, that is obsessive and her friends took her wallet since she was getting married in two weeks, and she couldn't spend money. However she was begging her friends to buy it for her. They literally dragged her out of the store and we all knew that in 2 weeks she would be back.
They said what!
Now I know I have been talking about my store a lot, and I have mentioned that there is a store upstairs. Now it became apparent from a customer that the store upstairs was bad talking our store by telling lies. Now I understand, we are in the same business, we are going to be in competition with one another, but to tell lies is down right wrong.
When people ask me about the guys upstairs I tell them flat out why we are better, the disc resurfacing, the better return policies, the try before you buy, and anything we do differently. This is informing the consumer about your product and letting them decide for themselves. If I were the guys upstairs I could talk about us being the new kid on the block, how that you can return games at any store location, as well as using their discount card at any location.
That is what you should do, however to a guy's credit at that store came down to check us out, and we told him what we do and he overall did not see us as a bad store. I just hope he told his coworkers about the place and they don't continue their bashing of us and just dis us in a professional manner.
