Download This! Broken Circle

Another installment of download this, and do I have a good one for you! Every so often luck does not go the way of a person, and this is a prime example of it. Elvis Morelli won a contest from a game publisher to make a game back in 2004. Due to certain circumstances the contract was voided. My guess is that the Bobs told them it was not a good idea. Thankfully Francesco Marra, the lead programmer, went to another company called 7 Raven Studios was happy to take on the project and completed it...in 2009. Due to the fact that the game was too big to actually fit on a cart, and that no one buys new games for the GBA now, the project died.
But wait! Instead of being jerks and never showing off the game, they had the brilliant idea of giving it away for free on their website. Thus ladies and gentlemen this is the rare instance where I can say that this is a legal ROM that you can download. Could this be a marking plot to encoutage to check out the other titles? Maybe, however you know the drill here I take on all things free.

Isometric never looked so good
So what is the game about? Well the story is about the grand quest of a warrior saving the land from...ok the story is kind of stock from the RPG realm, however I will say when playing this it reminded me of your old school PC RPGs. A Warrior with a bad ass sword killing warthogs as they roam free (for some reason) in the land and encountering random battles to level up.

He has the POWER!
The battle system has points where you make a turn using the points and then act them out as the battle takes place. Some move require more points then others and depending on what enemies you have could change the strategy. Now I didn't get too far in this game, however I am going to guess there are ways to increase the amount of points adding a new element to the game itself.

There are side quests to be had
Now you can easily see why the game stands out, the graphics for this is up there with the early DS titles, the animations and sound for it just enhances the mood and is visually stunning to see and to play. Now you will need to get an emulator like VisualBoyAdvance in order to play this game. However if you are an RPG fan looking for a solid game to play, then this is a must download.

Why is it RPGs make up the craziest town names?

Uh... "Tir Na Nog" (they mispelled it in the game, possibly intentionally) is actually the name of a well-known Otherworld of Irish/Celtic mythology. It's basically the equivalent of Elysium from Greek mythology or Valhalla from the Norse. I actually remember watching a series called "Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog" as a kid (it was basically Power Rangers in an era of knights and dragons).
